If you are a woman of color or with thick hair, this is not the place for you. I’ve been getting blowouts by the Dominicans for the past 15 years. I was in the area and needed somewhere close so I tried this place out. It’s a beautiful salon and appears to be pretty clean. I got there before 11AM and wasn’t done until close to 3:30 PM. I asked for a blow out and clip ins, which I brought, from the minute I walked in and I was told that’s fine. My stylist never asked about the clip ins again. When I got out from the dryer, I asked for a blow dryer to dry the clips as they were slightly damp. She made a big fuss and said I should’ve been said that and how they have to go under the dryer and it’s a whole process, even though I volunteered to just dry them. She kept going on and on until I finally said it’s okay I just won’t put them in. 45 mins later she started speaking Spanish and asked another lady to do them, and the other lady also has an attitude. I told them forget it since they said I’ll have to wait about a hour to rinse them and put them under the dryer and they have a bunch of people waiting. I too had to wait to get my hair done and was there before ALL of the other people but I somehow was not a priority and would need to wait. I woke up the next day and my hair poofed up. I’m not even bothering to go back. Keep in mind that to wash and blow was $65 then $20 to flat iron. In the dozens of salons I’ve been too, I have NEVER been told it’s extra to use a flat iron and straighten your hair… that’s literally a party of a wash and set. I will say that the stylist was nice overall, just poor communication and no care for what I wanted. Also, I got there at 11AM and they open at 10 AM, and there were 3 people already being serviced and only ONE person working. Two more employees got there around 1PM maybe. I’ve never in my life sat in a salon for almost 5 hours for a wash and set. There are so many other hair salons, don’t waste your time or money here. Total waste of $95.

It’s was a men who attended me and he ruined my hair. I asked for a brownish color and he went for yellowish color with strips and it’s was my birthday and he ruined my day. But not only that I went in there at 2 and got out of there by 7 almost, my hair was burned and now my hair is dry then ever.I will not go back please be careful.

I have been coming here for years! I have long, thick, and curly hair — they helped me right away! I was in and out with no problem. The staff was very professional and kind. This Dominican salon was clean and definitely a place to visit!

I love this place! they really care for my hair. I went for a hair cut, color and good conditioner, the lady was very professional and they did all perfect 😍

I took my daughter in for a wash and blow-dry, and they immediately said they only do a wash and set with rollers due to how much hair she had. I was quoted $45, but after 3 hours, the total came out to $70. My daughter said the staff were rude, spoke in Spanish around her, and the man detangling her hair was very rough. I paid out of respect, but the experience was disappointing. If you’re a Black woman with thick, natural hair, I wouldn’t recommend this salon. They clearly aren’t trained to handle natural textures with care.

Mayra in the first chair hands are EVERYTHING! AS MANY I have cut my hair she always helps keep it maintained and it grows back beautifully. She is SUPER SWEET, PROFESSIONAL, WELCOMING, and personable. Mayra has patience and she's honest! Which I love most she will let you know what works for your hair and what doesn't. I've been coming to see her since she first got to the New Rochelle location 20yrs ago and I hope she is here for 20 more. As long as Mayra is around I will always be there!

Solid spot. Called a few hours in advance a few days prior to Christmas and I was given a time to pop in. I waited inside for about 40mins before I was able to be seen and then it took about 2H with wash, trim and set while the people continued fo stream in. Seems like these ladies can handle all hair types. although the wall pricing noted wash, deep condition and set for $30 — i paid $60 for wash, trim and set. i didn't complain because its holiday season during covid and i could afford it — but i thought this was sneakily steep. idk if its cash only always, but it was when i went. they were kind to let me grab cash from atm across the st. covid specific:: masks at all times and not bandanas, seems like only two working at a time, they have a face thermometer, all stylists have barbicide cert from covid 2020
