I stopped by Common Ground for the first time yesterday for a massage and spa session after hearing many good things from community members about the facility and practitioners. Betsy was my massage therapist—she was communicative, kind, trauma-informed, and really talented in her work. The massage left me feeling completely relaxed and grounded, and the full spa experience (sauna, soaking pool, cold shower) was incredibly relaxing and restorative as well. Can’t wait to go back!

Very relaxing, I felt really rejuvenated after the soak! The spa like self care is amazing 🤩 they have massage 💆🏽‍♀️ therapy, a salt soak with relaxing waters and meditation 🧘🏽‍♀️ space, the cedar sauna 🧖🏾‍♀️ is just right to benefit your body & mind. The staff is very friendly and helpful to everyone and very welcoming when checking in for an appointment. I love that I can have this place in the inner NE Portland neighborhood in the city! Don’t have to drive too far for self care ✨ I felt a sense of relief when I left and lighter than ever! If you need a place for stress reduction and muscle/joint pain relief, this is the place for you! Clothing is optional but I wear a bikini 👙 and am super comfortable in the safe environment so it’s a great place to check out on your own or with a friend or partner. Great soak pool and sauna. Clothing optional and co-ed, including showers and locker room. Facility has LGBT and BIPOC nights. The sauna is silent. Chatting within your party is allowed in the pool. There are also silent pool hours.

This was my second trip to Common Ground, and it was wonderful. The facilities were clean and comfortable, the rules were clear and well-enforced, and the staff were friendly. The soak was heavenly! Jeffrey, the massage therapist who worked with me, did an excellent job. He was great at checking in about my comfort level through our session. He even gave me some stretches to try. All in all, I had a great time, and I’ll definitely be back.

Betsy was an absolutely amazing massage therapist and I haven’t felt so relaxed in a long time! I originally thought that an hour of a soak was going to be too much for me but o honestly should have aimed for 1.5-2hours! The sauna isn’t for me but the whole environment was welcoming and an absolute pleasure to melt into. I will absolutely be back!

I had such a great time here celebrating my partners birthday. The sauna and soaking pool are both relaxing and clean and inclusive - we felt relaxed the whole time! Couldn’t recommend it enough!

I’ve been going to CGW for a few years now and finally decided to try acupuncture for the first time. My appointment was with Carlos and it was such a wonderful experience! I was nervous since I had never done acupuncture before but it was so relaxing and the body work paired with it left me feeling much better than when I had come in. I suffer from chronic pain and I felt Carlos really listened to everything I shared about my history and made sure to focus on those pain points for me through the appointment. Every step was explained out and my comfort level was checked multiple times throughout the appointment to make sure I was okay. I highly recommend! Outside of this- I’ve always loved my massage appointments with different practitioners as well as the soaking hours!
