Had a really nice time at Anda spa. I loved the eucalyptus room and the hot tub. The massage was really good. My only complaint was I wish the scalp part lasted longer as that was my favorite. Also, I could've gone for some mood lighting, maybe I could've spoken up about that during my massage, but when I rolled over onto my back I realized the lights were on full blast which wasn't super pleasant. A darker, calmer environment would've been more my vibe. Overall a good experience and I will be back.

My favorite spa when Im in town. So many nice amenities and atmosphere. Laurie (or it may have been Laura) at the front desk was so helpful with our scheduling and my massage technician was very skilled.

Disappointing Massage Experience, Good Amenities but Not Worth the Visit! My husband booked me an 80-minute full-body massage as a postpartum gift, and we even planned a mini staycation around it since we weren’t able to do this earlier. Unfortunately, the massage itself was nothing close to what I expected and left me more frustrated than relaxed. My massage therapist, Alex, was polite, friendly, and asked about my preferred pressure — I clearly stated firm pressure with some deep-tissue work and she acknowledged it. The first 15–20 minutes on my shoulders were decent with good pressure, although the technique didn’t feel like it was coming from a highly trained or experienced therapist. Still, I was hopeful. However, everything after those first 15–20 minutes fell apart. The session felt more like someone applying lotion than giving a massage. She simply glided her hands up and down my back, arms, and legs with no noticeable technique, muscle work, or pressure. It felt extremely basic, unprofessional, and not aligned with what a full-body therapeutic massage should be. She also skipped several areas, including fingers and smaller muscle points. By the end, I felt no relief, no relaxation, and no value for the time or cost. I’m also someone who doesn’t enjoy confrontation or interrupting a service, so if you're like me, please think twice. Spa & Amenities You do get full access to spa facilities with your service, which was a plus. However, there was a strong marijuana smell in the locker area, which was off-putting. The dry sauna was unbearably hot, and I couldn’t stay even 5 minutes. The steam room barely felt steamy, more like someone had just taken a shower with a little essential oil. The hydrotherapy area looked nice, but I didn’t use it. Waiting lounge was aesthetically pleasing and comfortable. Final Thoughts We planned this experience thoughtfully and I was genuinely looking forward to it, but it ended up being a complete disappointment and felt like a waste of time and money. Amenities alone do not make up for a poor, ineffective, and unskilled massage, especially when that is the core purpose of the visit. I rarely write negative reviews, but I left feeling let down instead of rejuvenated, and I wish I had known this beforehand. -from a postpartum mama (Juni)

The spa it self is lovely and certainly one of the nicest in Minneapolis. I have been lucky enough to go to spas all around the world. When I say that I had the best message of my life with Amanda I can’t not express enough how amazing she was. She knew exactly what to do to help me not only have a relaxing message but also get rid of knots without hurting me. She’s amazing! Everyone who worked there was really nice as well. Highly recommend.

I have really bad Gerd in which I can not lay on my stomach when it flares badly which has prevented me from getting self care as in the past massage therapists have not been kind. At anda spa I had the MOST AMAZING provider (Rowan) she completely made my day. Was so accommodating, compassionate and extremely knowledgeable and skilled - I couldn’t even tell I didn’t flip. I left feeling completely refreshed, listened to and genuinely taken care of. I can’t thank you enough, Rowan will be my go to here for sure! Space is beautiful, front desk staff awesome! 10/10

As a physician, I feel ethically compelled to warn others: Anda Spa is not a safe or professional place to receive a massage. Let’s start with anatomy and safety. The massage I received at Anda Spa was *anatomically dangerous.* My masseuse, Brittany, demonstrated a striking lack of understanding of basic human anatomy. When massaging the neck, a trained professional should focus on the major posterior muscle groups (upper trapezius, levator scapulae, splenius, semispinalis, suboccipital muscles). Brittany, however, repeatedly applied pressure to areas far too anterior and lateral that are directly overlying sensitive nerves and arteries, including branches of the external carotid and vertebral arteries. This is not simply "poor technique"; it is unsafe practice that poses a real risk of injury. If Anda Spa chooses to respond to this review, I would urge them to consult a qualified physician before making any claims about the safety or appropriateness of these techniques. Brittany is not qualified to be performing massage therapy, and I strongly advise anyone considering this spa to consult a doctor before booking. Beyond safety concerns, Brittany was also shockingly rude. When I politely asked her to adjust her pressure (20 minutes into a 50 minute session), she snapped, "I’m just warming up." After that, I felt uncomfortable offering any feedback at all. Her pressure was inconsistent and dominated by sharp elbow use, and when she did occasionally use her hands, the pressure was so light/superficial that it was ineffective. The overall experience was painful, anxiety-inducing, and highly unsatisfying. My husband’s experience was marginally better, though still disappointing. His masseuse, Bess, ignored his specific request to focus on his upper back and instead spent most of the time on his lower back. She also had long nails and scratched him multiple times. The only redeeming part of this experience was Laura at the front desk, who handled our complaint with professionalism and grace. She immediately offered us a refund, which we accepted, and reiterated this commitment multiple times. Several days later, when I noticed the refund had not processed, I called the spa and was told that the spa director believed we planned to return for another massage in the future. While I had spoken with her about that possibility, she never stated or implied that it would be in place of the refund we were explicitly promised. A reputable business should never backtrack on a refund that was offered and confirmed - doing so is unacceptable and unprofessional. Overall, Anda Spa is unsafe, unprofessional, and poorly managed. As a physician, I cannot in good conscience recommend this establishment to anyone. There are many reputable spas in the Twin Cities and this is absolutely not one of them.

Amanda gave the best massage I have ever had. She is incredibly knowledgeable and skilled at her craft. I will definitely be back and will request her!
