H Mart Irvine

Good selection of drinks and food. They have a hot section that does a buy one get one free special towards the end of the day and it’s a great deal. Good kimchi selection but mostly sold in bulk packaging, wish they had more à la carte options for the kimchi.

The gutjeolyi kimchi was overly salty to the extent that it caused noticeable discomfort and required drinking water throughout the night. The Gohyang-brand kimbap lacked the expected sesame oil flavor, and the shirutteok contained a sugar filling, which is not typical for this item. Additionally, the "roasted" sweet potatoes were misleadingly labeled, as they appeared to be steamed rather than roasted. Overall, the quality of locally branded food products at this H Mart location fell well below an acceptable standard.

I actually went there by chance. But I was pleasantly surprised to find low prices on fresh vegetables, and I also found my favorite roasted sesame oil, for about $23 for 1.65L (56oz).

I’m a bit biased so I like the H Mart located in Buena Park/Fullerton more than this one located in Irvine; mainly because I’m more accustomed to the BP/Fullerton one. The plaza the Irvine Hmart is located in is a very popular spot so I get why parking gets difficult here. The food selection is pretty much the same except for certain items such as the Kimbap. For the marinated meat, the one up in Diamond bar is the best in my opinion and then BP/Fullerton. And with Hmart being limited in location, I understand why Irvine is the way it is - so if the other ones are further to get to, I would recommend the Irvine spot if you want access to Korean food. So 4/5 stars imo.

This Korean grocery store is a hidden gem! They have a huge selection of authentic Korean snacks, drinks, and ingredients, with something new and interesting around every corner. Prices are very reasonable, and the staff are friendly and helpful, always ready to answer questions or recommend products. The store is well-organized, making it easy to browse and discover unique items. Whether you’re looking for your favorite Korean treats or trying something new, this place has plenty of delicious and exciting options that make shopping here a lot of fun.

K Town Food Court Review: Love the beef and shrimp and egg ramen dish! Generous portion with side of rice and anchovies and kimchi! Half the price of pizza next door! Fresh food for less than $12!!! Krazy!

Rude customer service from the cashier- a college age "man" who acted inconvenienced because I asked for a few more paper bags so that my groceries would not rip. Instead of distributing the weight evenly among the bags he proceeded to put all the heavy items such as kimchi in glass jars in one bag! And then I told him it was going to rip and I had to redo all the groceries in the bags myself because he mumbled some garbage trying to defend his BS. I really feel like people lack common sense these days and have lost any sense of what customer service truly was prior to covid.
