I have been seeing Dr Belasco of Blue Harbor for almost 10 years now, and I can confidently say he is the best dermatologist I've ever worked with-by far. I have suffered from eczema my entire life. Some Dr's think it is related to years of surfing and wearing wetsuits , but regardless. I've alway dealt with extremely dry, irritated, painful skin for decades. Over the years I have seen derms all over the country including the head of dermatology at UCLA and Stanford, along with several here in Newport. Many of them were impressive on paper, but in reality, I'd see them once, get little follow-up and feel like just another appointment. Dr Belasco is different. From day one, he has treated me like a person, not a case file. When I am having a bad flare up, when I can't sleep, can't focus at work, and feel absolutely miserable. I can call his office and they work with me right away. He takes the time to listen and walk me through options in a consultative way. Over the years, I've tried every treatment out there, including the newer biologics. Dr B stayed with me through every trial, every setback, and every adjustment. Eventually we found what works for me, and honestly it has been life changing. These new treatments are amazing. If you're dealing with eczema, chronic skin issues or just want a Derm who truly has your back. I highly recommend Dr Kevin Belasco and his team at Blue Harbor. Thank you Dr B for everything you have done for me over the years.

Went there ONLY to check on basal cell sun spots on my scalp. One year later I have scheduled significant scalp surgery (certainly not with them) for an aggressive squamous cell carcinoma ("SBC") that appears to now be 2 inches length. They were so busy selling their BS red light treatment that they paid no attention to an aggressive lesion, which was the reason I made the appointment in the first place. THE CARCINOMA SHOULD HAVE BEEN CAUGHT! Only lucky it isn't melanoma -- no thanks to them.

I have been a patient of Dr. Belasco for at least five years I am very fair skinned, and the joys that come with that despite the fact that I stay out of the sun sometimes I have some little pre-cancer things that need to be removed. While this is not a fun process , Dr Belasco does his best to numb the area for me before proceeding and taking little breaks in between so that I can breathe. Dr. Belasco and I recently had a misunderstanding about some of his policies. he asked me to call him personally I did so we had a wonderful conversation and straightened out our misunderstanding. I will continue to recommend him to my friends, and he absolutely is worth every star of a five star review.

I am so happy I found Dr. Belasco. He is attentive and kind and explains things in a way a layperson can understand. It feels good to have an option to turn to deal with cosmetic issues with my skin. Do you really want to trust your skin care to a non medical place like a spa and just trust that whoever is working on you has the right training not to harm or scar you? The more I thought about, the more it is definitely worth the money to entrust my skin to a doctor.

I recently underwent a procedure at Blue Harbor Dermatology and while the medical care was satisfactory, the billing experience has been nothing short of frustrating and disappointing. Despite having insurance coverage with Cigna, my interactions with the billing department have left me questioning the professionalism and efficiency of Blue Harbor Dermatology. The issues began when my insurance paid for the initial procedure, but subsequent communications regarding the removal of stitches revealed a confusing change in network coverage. The lack of proactive communication on their part meant that I only discovered I was no longer part of the network after receiving an unexpected bill after 1 year passed. Numerous calls between the office and Cigna ensued, with conflicting information causing further confusion. Blue Harbor Dermatology consistently charged the full fee instead of the contracted amount, which not only violated their agreement with the insurance company but also raised ethical concerns. After countless calls and emails over the course of three months, the billing issues persisted. Only after writing a formal email expressing my dissatisfaction did they respond with a bill showing a zero balance. However, this relief was short-lived as another bill arrived a month later, claiming that the amount I had paid had been returned to the insurance. The outsourcing of billing to BHD seemed to exacerbate the problem, with poor communication between the billing department and the main office. The lack of a direct phone number for the billing department further hindered resolution, leaving me to wait for 3-5 days for each response. In a conversation with a supervisor, who happens to be Dr. Belasco's wife, I encountered rudeness and a dismissive attitude. Her failure to allow me to express my concerns and her abrupt assurance that they would "clean up the balance again" was unprofessional and demeaning. While the monetary amount in question may be relatively small, the principle of the matter is significant. Blue Harbor Dermatology's negligence in informing me of the change in network status and the subsequent billing discrepancies have wasted a considerable amount of my time and caused unnecessary frustration. In conclusion, Blue Harbor Dermatology needs to rectify its administrative and billing processes to ensure a smoother and more transparent experience for its patients. The lack of communication, adherence to contracted fees, and the dismissive attitude from the supervisor are aspects that need urgent attention. Patients deserve better, especially when it comes to matters as crucial as billing and insurance coordination.

Dr. B and Christine are amazing people. They are both passionate, caring, understanding, respectful, and professional. Dr. B is a dermatologist who I trust, is knowledgeable, and up to date in his practice. I also get my laser treatments in the facility. I have had several treatments with the Forever Bare BBL and it you can definitely see the progress. Yes, it is going to pricier than the med spa types of lasers, but let’s be honest, you get what you pay for. The lasers are medical grade and the results show it. Christine is a sweetheart! She will make you feel comfortable during the treatment. She treats her patients like part of the family. I am proud and lucky I was referred to this facility. The office staff is outstanding as well. They are extremely friendly and will answer any questions you have. If they don’t have or know the answer, they will immediately find out by talking to either Dr. B or Christine. I promise you won’t be disappointed with their practice as well as the results.

Best Dermatologist in Orange County I found! I've been wanting to go in and see a dermatologist and remove some skin moles I had. With a new insurance plan I was reluctant and figured I would have to wait forever to get an appointment. I was happy and glad when they said to come in the next day. The front office staff is courteous and friendly. I only waited less than 10 minutes to see the Doctor. He is very nice, has a good sense of humor because I joke A LOT and he in the same visit did the removal procedure to save me from paying for another office visit, "very nice". I appreciate quality medical care because it is rare. Most medical offices have turned into a wholesale mill and when you find a small family medical practice where you are treated with respect and care, you should cherish it! I am glad I found this office and thank you to the doctor and his staff for the amazing care on my skin....Next, I want to see his wife for some amazing skin care "cosmetic" treatments.....Excited!!!
