Aspen Dental - Palatine, IL

I REALLY DIDN’T WANT TO LEAVE 1 STAR. The Dental assistant and Dr. seem genuinely friendly and very knowledgeable, but the sales practices and lack of transparency in terms of pre-visit expectations are the reason for the 1 star. I felt like I was being ‘forced’ to get stuff done quickly before the damage becomes permanent and more painful. I came in to inquire about wisdom teeth extraction but had to get a full consultation, gum health check, and X-rays first… Come time to scheduling and payment/finance options, my jaw dropped when they told me it would be $13,000+. Not because of the egregious prices, but for the fact that I made it clear on the phone and in person that my main concern was of a single wisdom tooth that was occasionally causing me discomfort (I was fine with all 4 being removed). Upon further review of the itemized bill, there were 4 sedation charges (1 per wisdom tooth I’m assuming), $200 tooth brush, deep cleaning fees, misc gingivitis meds, singlular tooth cleanings/prep, etc. To schedule a further date, an upfront payment of at least 50% or so of the bill was due, or financing with weird terms. I would not be able to get work done regardless as their surgeons/specialized doctors only come in like once a month during weekdays and travel to various locations. (Might’ve been another sales tactic). I was asked multiple times if I could pay the costs despite me not even agreeing on a date 😂 what a joke. A $700+ cleaning was the "minimum of what I should get done today". When I asked how long the cleaning would take, I was told it was an hour. In essence, I would have to bend the knee, pay thousands, and travel far to get my concerns addressed in a quick manner. On top of that, I was pressured multiple times to leave a review while waiting for more information.. once by the assistant (no pressure, just gave me a card), and twice by "finance manager" (asked to leave a review, then a couple of minutes later, was reminded of leaving a review). As an owner of multiple service based businesses, this is no way to treat customers. Fear should never be used to push sales and you don’t keep someone in a room to leave a review while they wait in front of you. HORRIBLE TACTICS Long story short. This was a waste of time. I was fed information that I already knew/assumed, and fear was used to pressure me to "protect" my smile.

Garbage company run by garbage people. I never understood why people hated the dentist until i tried this place. I've never had a worse customer service experience in any field. They try to sell you thousands of dollars worth of procedures you don't really need. Make you wait forever in a chair and charge you for things got didn't ask for and weren't discussed. I've also alerted the BBB and plan to take legal action on their aggressive financing they pressure you in to.

All the staff was super nice and helpful. They took me through the entire plan of getting my teeth back up to health and made me feel like we have a plan I can afford to move forward. Would recommend and will be my new primary dentist moving into the future!

The hygienist Aleks was so sweet and professional. My cleaning was quick and painless. I always love coming to this office where they treat every patient like family!

This dentist is no different than any other greedy money grabbing piece of garbage. $450 for dentures with dark colored teeth $1700 for dentures with bright white teeth No difference in her cost, she pays the same or a few pennies more for the materials, color has nothing to do with her cost - but she'll make you pay 3 x's as much just so you can have white teeth. And plan on the ultimate "used car buying experience" when you deal with this practice. They'll get you in for their "consultation" and have the office manager come tell you what your "options" are and then try to upgrade you to spending more money and again, their cost between the basic and the "best" they have to offer costs them little to no difference, but they charge you 3x's more!

I have always had horrible experiences at the dentist. I wish I found Dr. Leano and Aspen Dental years ago. Tooth extractions were painless as Dr. Leano made sure I was completely numb before anything was done. Patient and caring staff. Strongly recommend

I went to this location a few years ago in 2023 the upselling was overwhelming! Dental implants appeared to be their only focus! I didn’t go back! I’m not one to not give someone a chance to correct! I went back 2025 and if for not in the same place When I entered I thought I was in a different place! The front desk was so polite, and accommodating! The X Ray guy (Adam)??was so kind , understanding and had the greatest personality, The Dr was so down to earth and explained everything with understanding and compassion! Don Yell walked me through every inch of my financial and went 100% out of her way to help me understand! Not only will I go back I now want to be treated like this everywhere I go!
