I came in for an orthodontic consultation and left feeling very uncomfortable and disappointed. I had previously seen this orthodontist, and during this visit she mentioned an additional device that would be required for treatment, which had never been discussed in prior consultations. There was also a significant language barrier due to her very thick accent, which made it difficult to clearly understand the treatment plan or ask questions confidently. What concerned me most was the condition of the room. Instruments and materials were left out in a way that did not appear sanitary. It did not feel clean or organized, which raised serious concerns for me—especially as a parent. Given this experience, I can understand how my daughter’s dental impressions were previously lost at another facility where this orthodontist also works (West Coast Dental Murrieta). When you are spending a significant amount of money on orthodontic care, you expect clear communication, professionalism, and a clean environment. This is a big investment, and it should feel worth it. Unfortunately, that was not the experience we had.
Why is it so hard to find a good dentist? Made myself an appointment, to start getting my dental health in order. While making the appointment, the receptionist told me to show up 10 minutes earlier, so I can fill out my paperwork. No problem. My appointment time was at 11 am. Showed up exactly at 10:50am, was given the paperwork to fill out and was done with the paperwork by 10:55am. Then was told it would be a few minutes before I’m called back, no problem, giving them time to input my information that I had just given them. Those few minutes turned into 15 minutes. Then 20 minutes. I asked if I would be next soon, since 4 people showed up after me and had already been called back. Another 10 minutes. Then another 10 minutes. Finally at 11:45am, I was told I would be seen at 12. My appointment time was at 11am, and the receptionist told me to show up 10 minutes before my appointment time, which I did. At this point, I had enough and left. I explained to them that people have stuff to do, and can’t be waiting over an hour later to be called. They all looked at me like I was crazy, for pretty much calling them out on having me to wait so long. No one seemed to care that patients are waiting on them to be seen. Places like this are why people avoid going to the dentist. My appointment was Wednesday, the 26th of November, and since then, no one from the office has bothered to call and try to apologise, and to see if they can reschedule my appointment. So based on the fact that they haven’t called me back, shows that they do not care about their patients, and are only focused on money. Do not go to this place, unless you’re bored and have nothing else to do but wait. Very unprofessional.
This is a mixed review. Today we went to this location to have my sons’s wisdom teeth pulled out. We arrived on time for his 1200 pm noon appointment. Check in was easy. The staff members were friendly. The location had our referral in the system, so there was no need to provide an identification or insurance card. Then we waited and waited and waited and waited. Two hours later he was called for X-rays. Then we waited and waited and waited. He was finally called to the back for a "consultation." I let them know this was supposed to be a wisdom teeth extraction, not just a consultation. Once again…. All staff members were very polite and professional to us. There was a little disturbance in the staff lounge, where one employee was getting angry with another employee, but it was quick and done. My son was finally done after almost exactly 4 hours. It was 4 hours and 3 minutes. The rating is a (3) because of the wait and only the wait. The staff members treated me and my son very professionally and in a courteous manner. FOUR HOURS IS OUTRAGEOUS, ridiculous and so sad!!! I asked a staff member and he said that the corporation over books this site, especially when the oral surgeon is on site. Maybe…when the oral surgeon is not present, the wait wouldn’t be so long.
Save yourself and find another office. I'm sharing our experience so other families can make an informed decision. My child was receiving orthodontic treatment (braces) at West Coast Dental in Menifee and was seen regularly for adjustment visits. At a late November adjustment, we were told she had one cavity on a front tooth and to "keep brushing." At her next appointment (Jan 17, 2026), after I brought it up and asked if/when it would be treated, the orthodontist did a visual check and told us she had cavities on multiple upper front teeth. When I asked how this hadn’t been brought up earlier if it was visible, a dental assistant said they sometimes "we don’t pull the lip back far enough." At that visit we were told they could not remove her braces and do an assessment until Feb 13 (nearly a month later). We immediately went to another dentist for a second opinion. That dentist confirmed significant decay and explained the braces needed to come off so treatment could begin. This has been extremely stressful, expensive, and upsetting, especially because she is a child. The office experience also felt consistently overbooked. Visits were often very quick, and communication was minimal, we rarely left understanding what was being monitored or what the plan was. We were also not clearly informed upfront that the orthodontist is only available on Fridays, meaning even a broken bracket may require waiting until Friday and hoping they can fit you into an already packed schedule. The office manager stated she would do an investigation and follow up with a phone call; we also requested all of our records. As of Feb 6, we have not received the promised follow-up call, and we still have not received the records we requested (which they are required to give us by law). My other child also had botched work by dental when they did fillings on two of his molars less than a year ago and they did not get it all. now requiring root canals. Additionally, with ortho braces treatment he developed white spots on his teeth, and we were advised to use whitening strips. A different dentist later told us those spots were consistent with early demineralization ("pre-cavities"), advised that whitening strips were not appropriate, and prescribed prescription fluoride toothpaste instead. Based on our family’s experience, I cannot recommend this office if you’re looking for careful monitoring, clear communication, and consistent orthodontic/dental care.
Mary Jane was my hygienist today and she was great. Great personality, compassionate and was quick. She listens and explains what she’s going to do.
My first visit I waited 4 hours for a consult. Over the past year I have either been sent away 1-2 hours into waiting for my scheduled appointment due to not having the time. Rescheduled multiple times after requesting time off of work. This is not the facility to start your dental journey if you want a good experience. My husband had a similar experience.
I had an appoint and was sitting in the dental chair and they asked me to leave because they were to busy. Came back a second time and they gave me shots in the mouth, and then they told me to leave because their equipment was dirty and they had to cancel the appointment. Third time I cane in for a dental procedure. After the appointment I was in severe pain, entire head was throbbing.and body shakes. Told to take Tylenol by the staff. Pain was unbearable and went to the urgent care for a second opinion, and found out I had an infection that spreads to my ears. Three more trips to the urgent care and I finally saw a ear specialist. Told I have T&J which mostly was caused by the infection, which was caused by the dental work and being misdiagnosed. Prescription antibiotics could have prevented this. Pain has been severe, placed on medication and PT. West Coast Dental never cleaned my teeth, but focus on procedures I needed instead with improper after care. . Now I’m afraid to go to the dentist. Mouth is in shambles. This has been truly a terrible and horrifying nightmare for me.
