I have tried a few surgeries, both in the UK and here. This surgery is by far the best one. Experienced and hugely professional dentists using the latest equipment. I had a root canal and didn't feel a thing. Thorough procedure with top expertise. Highly recommended.
I love Dr. Navabi and his team! I have been going to him for over 10 years and he’s the best in the business. Do your self a favor and go see Dr. Navabi! You won’t regret it.
Dr. Navabi and his staff were diligent, professional and friendly. They started exactly on time, explained everything, and did what needed to be done carefully and competently. It was perfect.
This might be a bit long, but it’s necessary. I’m sharing what happened during two separate visits to the practice—both involving the same dentist. I had a scale and polish done by a young Black woman (currently expecting), and she was absolutely brilliant. I didn’t catch her name, but she followed hygiene protocols to the letter: her head was covered, her face mask was already on, she avoided touching her face or body, and she changed her gloves as needed. I felt completely at ease in her care. She clearly takes her professional training seriously—and it shows. I mention this for good reason. Visit One: After my cleaning, Dr Hirschfeld came in to do her check-up. She washed her hands and put on gloves—fine so far. But then, while already wearing the gloves, she put on her face mask (which was visibly stained with makeup). She did not change her gloves before using the dental instruments in my mouth. That’s a serious breach of hygiene—anything touched with gloved hands (especially the face or mask) should be followed by a glove change. Visit Two: I returned for cosmetic work. I was taken in by her assistant, Edwin, who was pleasant but made two concerning missteps: A) He prepared tooth polish with bare hands (not ideal). B) Once he had gloves on, he opened cabinet drawers with his gloved hands. Unless those drawer handles are disinfected between each patient, that could easily transfer bacteria or saliva from one person to another. Then Dr Hirschfeld came in again. She put on gloves—but: She adjusted her ponytail with her gloved hands Then put on her face mask, again with the same gloves. And once again, those gloves were not changed before she began working in my mouth. None of this should be happening. Gloves are meant to protect patients and staff, but once they’ve touched the face, hair, or mask, they’re no longer sterile. There should be no contact with the body or surroundings after gloving up—unless gloves are changed straight after. I’m European as well, like the doctor, and I say this with no malice—but unfortunately, some of our more relaxed attitudes toward protocol seem to have followed her into this practice. In a clinical setting, that just doesn’t work. If I’m picking up on these issues, others likely are as well. Most people won’t make a fuss—they simply don’t come back.
Dr. Navabi, Dr Hirschfeld, Dr. Z and the staff at Bethesda Smiles have provided me with excellent dental care for over 20 years. They have always been professional and personable. They have always gone out of their way to be helpful. I am grateful for the dental care they have provided me and I am happy to recommend them.
Dr. Navabi is a fantastic dentist and takes patient comfort very seriously. I’ve had dentists in the past that would ignore me when I said I was in pain but Dr. Navabi took me seriously and made sure everything was good to go. Dr. Hirschfeld also did some composite veneers for me 2 years ago and they are wonderful, she’s an artist with cosmetic dentistry. I highly recommend this dental practice to anyone reading.
From the time I contacted the office for my dental problem, I have received an outstanding service. The appointment was timely and accommodated my availability too. The staff was courteous and professional. Dr. Navabi's work was exceptional and completely resolved my issue. The entire office operation appeared very smooth. There is even a convenient underground parking that the office validates.
