Honestly, this is the best selection and expert and quality service for skin care and cosmetics. This location is special and a real gem here in Madison. Over the last several months, I’ve revamped and refreshed my skincare routine and makeup routine. As a woman of a certain age, I needed guidance and an introduction to how to use makeup to compliment my skin while still looking natural. Patience helped me with which products to start with, and how to wear them. Thomas and Kimberly recommended colors and skin care that made a visible difference in the look and feel of my skin. I enjoyed their company and am grateful. Thank you so much to Thomas, Patience, and their fearless leader, Kimberly, who staffs the store with beauty experts and compassionate, fun humans. I purchased day and night moisturizers, body oil, shower scrub, hydrating body lotion for these cold winters, foot care, hand care, and all the right colors and luxurious textures for everyday makeup. So very grateful for their expertise and kindness. Every time I go in with an issue, I leave feeling like my day just got better. I recommend this location to anyone who needs self care via skin care and cosmetics in the company of lovely humans. The best!

Patience is awesome. She clearly has an encyclopedic knowledge of makeup, and I never once felt like she was trying to sell me things. I don’t wear makeup, but I wanted some things for a gala. I ended up finding beautiful products. I haven’t enjoyed putting on makeup since my 20s. I had given up finding anything that actually looked good. Now I have some gorgeous big girl makeup, and a favorite cosmetics/skin care consultant named Patience.

I go to Hilldale Mall specifically to visit Blue Mercury. Patience is so knowledgeable and generous in sharing her beauty advice and always has the best product recommendations. I always feel welcome and seen; it’s a total delight to visit the store, even if I do leave with my wallet much thinner. Today I had the pleasure of meeting Lori as well - she showered attention on my mother and helped us both find products to meet our needs. Thank you, Patience and Lori!

The older guy who works here led with an insult to my family’s hair to try and sell a product. Also lied about product availability and whether or not there was a way to get a drink of water. (Despite being paying customers.) Will not go back.

My daughter and I picked lipsticks - the selection was very small - and then - even those on display were not available. They said they could order them online; that's wonderful because I can order them online too and the products would even conveniently come to my door. Also, the store is small, and I personally buy more when just browsing (I'm not alone in this); some customers want guidance; some just want to make their selection in peace and buy. I'll go back because the store has brands I like, and I hope it won't be awkward to just browse without the staff helpfully staring at me. Please, make the displayed items actually purchasable.

Wonderful place to shop for makeup! I went in looking for some guidance on how to have a simple makeup routine, and Lori made me feel so at ease and comfortable, and she was very knowledgeable. I really loved the Trish McEvoy line for a minimalist look (love that it's vegan and cruelty free!). Thank you Lori (and all the staff) for your kindness! It made a difference to me.
