Grand Café

Lake Geneva Grand Cafe, should be re-named underwhelming cafe, I got the kick’n chicken sandwich, I just had a couple drinks in me so I don’t need much to make me happy. The sandwich itself was aesthetically pleasing, but the bread was dry, very dry at that. There should be no excuse for it being dry or underwhelming in a luxury hotel. Let alone a restaurant in this hotel. The chicken was good but got thin near the end which affects the quality, the French fries were normal, nothing special or stood out. The atmosphere was great, the service was normal, besides that I expect the food to be better. The price for the sandwich was $16, which is not terrible but the quality of the food does not justify the price, you can get better food at fast food unfortunately and sadly. Sit down restaurants should have better food than a drive thru or fast food, and with the chicken sandwich, definitely left me upset, like come on I wasn’t asking for much.

Ambience is poor: why is there so much glass breaking in this place? The fire alarm was the cherry on top. Staff told us not to worry, happens all the time (lol) Food is pretty good but I’ve been coming here for years and it’s definitely on a decline. I’ll never forgive them for taking the parfait off the breakfast menu. Breakfast potatoes are now weird slabs of potato skins. Scrambled eggs are runny. Butter comes slathered on the little jelly container you have to open yourself and not in its own dish or anywhere useful. The breakfast ham is about as thick as a few sheets of paper. Buffet is $26 per adult and $16 for a kid and they are EAGER to sell you on the buffet. I inquired about its price and the waitress was like "I’ll put you down for the buffet!" What? No, I only wanted to know the cost, let’s not get carried away here lol Told the waitress you don’t want coffee? Too bad, you’re getting it. At least it wasn’t on the bill…. The Grand Cafe used to be a highlight of our annual trips to this town but I think it’s time for us to find a new favorite because now it’s just bad on multiple fronts.

We have stopped at this place for a quick bite on our way to the lake. it is part of Grahn Geneva resort. The café is pretty clean and nice. The server was friendly. I really enjoyed my fried chicken sandwich, with crispy and tender. The fries were fantastic. We also ordered grilled chicken which was also tasty. Key lime pie was a beautifully decorated and delicious. The coffee is all served by Starbucks. I will definitely come back for the resort to enjoy the rest of the facilities and definitely coming back to this café.

Made reservations weeks ago. Arrived on time and were seared immediately. Sat for a half hour waiting for our waiter. When he finally came he asked if we were ready to order. Told him we hadn’t received menus and would like to start with a drink. Took our drink order and gave us 1 menu there was 4 adults and 2 children . 20 minutes later he brought the kids drinks. 10 minutes later he brought 2 drink and 10 minutes later he brought the rest. Ordered an appetizer and our meals and asked that the appetizer was not served with the meal. 20 minutes later 2 meals were brought out. 10 minutes later 3 more were served with the appetizer then 5 minutes later the final one. We needed to request coffee and received the bill. Food was very good a little cold but at that point. We’re told they only had 2 chefs and we watched the staff running. Not a good way to run a restaurant

Fabulous ....... Was there for dinner during SoberFest 2025 on Satur evening. Manager Brain is great, funny and actually noticed he gets his hands dirty and helps out with tables assisting servers. We had no reservation and he got us a table without issue. Our server KatieN was fabulous as well. And to top it all off they opened the buffet early and what a fabulous deal price wise, great selection & choices for food. I took advantage of the all you can eat & everything was top notch & tasted great. Honestly, I'm not a big buffet fan but I would Never hesitate to do the buffet here and for what you get it is priced Very fairly. Hats off to everyone from top to bottom at the Grand Cafe, job well done

I had breakfast and burger here several days during my stay and everything as delicious. Service was very friendly and attentive and prices were very reasonable. I don’t know about ordering steak or more complicate food options here tho 🙂 but for a simple sandwich and breakfast it’s fantastic

Thoroughly enjoyed our brunch at the Grand Cafe. Food was excellent, service was exceptional, and the view was wonderful. We enjoyed the first day of our stay at the Grand Geneva with a perfect brunch experience. The food was absolutely amazing and so fresh. You must try the Avocado Toast, French Toast, and Nutella Pancakes!! SO SO GOOD!!! We ate here on a weekday so didn’t get to explore their buffet menu, next time definitely trying that. WILL BE BACK! If you are visiting Lake Geneva then plan a stay at the Grand Geneva for a fun and relaxed vacation.
