Grace has been cutting my hair for over three years, and she does a phenomenal job every single time. She takes the time to ask thoughtful, detailed questions to really understand the look I’m going for, and then executes it beautifully. Over the years I’ve had long layered cuts, blunter styles, and most recently a French bob. No matter the style, Grace absolutely nails it. She’s incredibly talented, kind, and consistent, and I truly can’t recommend her enough!!

I’ve been getting haircuts from Grace for years! I live in NJ but always make the trip to Manhattan to get my haircut with Grace. She’s very kind and meticulous with her work. I’ve always been satisfied with my haircut and have gotten a head spa done multiple times as well. I highly recommend this salon and Grace!

I've been coming to Tomoko Shima on 14th St for 4 years now and have always been very happy with services here. I get a head spa treatment every 9-10 months to treat myself, assess scalp health, and get a really thorough refresh. It supplements my more day-to-day approach to dandruff issues that cause moderate itchiness nicely. Grace and Yukari are both quite wonderful, with skilled hands and expertise in getting my scalp & hair in their best shape. I also really respect that I've never been upsold on any products, services, or additional things at this salon. Very much a no-fuss, laidback kind of place. I've had a head spa in Tokyo in the past also and in my opinion, Tomoko Shima holds its own. Thorough manual massage, lovely steam treatment, lots of nourishing products, I just come out feeling sparkly & new, you know? Coming here's a surefire way to make myself relax, kick back, and let the pros do their thing.

I've been getting my hair cut uptown at the same salon for awhile but decided to look for somewhere I could walk to and I'm so glad I found Tomoko Shima! Grace was my stylist and she did such a lovely job! She listened well to what I wanted and really took the time to cut my hair with care and precision. The cut made my hair very easy to style. This will be my new go to salon!

I have been going to Grace for 12 years for my hair and my hair feels amazing after every cut. If I could give more than 5 stars I would. Cannot recommend her enough.

I've been going to this salon 2 to 3 times a year for over 3 years now, and I always come back time and time again for Grace. I've lived in NYC for 6 years now, and I do not trust anyone else but her to cut and style my hair. She does an amazing job every single time, and it is always a very relaxing experience with her. She gives an amazing head massage when she washes, she takes her time and diligently checks in with you, and every time I leave looking amazing. Thank you Grace! Please don't ever leave!

Had an amazing experience. Misaki gave an incredible head massage. The head spa is a must try for everyone. It was so relaxing. My scalp feels super clean and healthy. Misaki also styled my hair beautifully. Very happy with my experience here.
