Beautiful studio. This was my first time getting a haircut with someone with specific expertise in curly/wavy hair. I had a great haircut with Fiona who so kindly helped me understand how to get my curls to really shine. I have long thick hair and often feel like hair stylists are rushing by the end- this was not the case with Fiona. She was incredibly detail oriented and I’m so happy with how my hair turned out 🙂

I’ve been seeing Clarissa at Bloom just about since she opened in 2010, and when I tell you she’s my longest lasting and most important relationship in NYC I am not joking. My hair was pretty damaged and tough to manage when I first started seeing her, and she’s totally transformed my hair (and therefore my life). The entire staff is wonderful, the hair wash experience is always divine, and I’m forever leaving a happy camper!

I went to this place to get a haircut for my curly hair. The result is not bad but they didn’t give me the haircut it want. They gave me the haircut they think i need. I had long curly hair and i asked for 3 simple things: keep length the same, give layers, and a specific height for my front layers. At the end, my hair length was significantly reduced, still with layers but not as i want, and a front layer height more than what i requested. My hair doesn’t look bad but it definitely isn’t what i wanted. They gave me the haircut they think i need because my ends weren’t healthy. I would expect from a place with this high score to respect and give me what I want, eventually nobody can know my hair better than I do. I am leaving this review here for those new clients so that you make sure your stylist understands what you exactly want.

I have been to Bloom twice now and could not recommend it more! Frank (the absolute best colorist) did a super natural balayage with the best tone, and Drew gave me an incredible cut! They both took the time to discuss my vision before starting and gave me really helpful input/advise. The service is also incredible - I’ll definitely be back!!

Kuri did an amazing job on my hair (highlights) and was so knowledgeable and communicative. The staff was all pleasant and I really appreciate how they are open a bit later than most other salons.
