Lotte Plaza Market - Gaithersburg

This market is my new favorite. It's really nice inside, has a bunch of selections, and the food court is surprisingly good! First off, the food court is right there when you walk in and has 3 food stalls with a range of different Korean foods, sushi, and coffee. The rest of the market has good sections like the Japanese bakery, the home stalls in the far end of the market, and there's a Skincare stall near the entrance.

I recently visited Lotte and had a very disappointing experience at the customer service counter. There is a Korean lady with short hair who was extremely disrespectful in the way she spoke to customers. Her tone was rude and unprofessional. What was even more concerning was the noticeable difference in how she treated people. It felt like she behaved differently toward Indian customers and other communities compared to others. Customer service staff should treat everyone equally, with respect and professionalism. I hope management takes this feedback seriously and provides proper training to ensure all customers are treated fairly and respectfully.

Shopping for groceries at this location was great with many options. However, the food court was quite disappointing. Prices were way too high for the quality of the food. I’d have expected more meat to be included in the spicy beef soup, and the seafood stone pot rice was below average. Stone pot dishes are supposed to have a bit of burnt rice in the bottom for the crispy texture. The rice we got was way too moist, so we had to take it out to cook it properly at home. If you’re looking for good Korean food, dine in at a nearby Korean restaurant.

This Lotte plaza is clean and bright, unlike some other Asian grocery stores. Shopping at this Asian supermarket from time to time. Their pricing is not the best but still within acceptable range. Food variety is good and just like other Asian grocery stores, basically they all selling similar foods and brands. Since this is a Lotte Plaza, that means their food is Korean focused. They do have big discounts for food, especially for snacks. The wait time for check out is usually not too long. The cashiers are doing their job well enough, not much to commen.

In recent Times I use to come to this market to get all my Indian vegetables and groceries. Fruits and vegetables are soo fresh with affordable price . Thailand tender coconut , mango , sauces are my today purchase list . When selecting a tender coconut, look for one that feels heavy for its size and has no cracks or leaks. I got the perfect one here . For kids also many candies and jellies are available here.

I would have given them ZERO stars, but, that's not an option. I bought something and they couldn't give me back the exact change. They said they didn't have any pennies and the cashier showed me a sign. So, I went to customer service and explained they need to reprice everything to the nearest nickel. She literally waved me off and walked away from me. Therefore, I must assume that they want to rip people off as much as possible.

I hope Lotte Customer Service rep reads this. Your Express Checkout should be for the customers with "less than 10 items." I was there (10/12/25) around noon time. Had 5 items to check out. The customer in front of me had more than 20 items. The cashier (lady with long hair/Glenda?) was chatting with the customer having good old times. Neither the cashier nor the customer seemed to care there are people waiting to check out (I counted 5 people behind me all with less than 10 items). I was short on time, and this was very frustrating. If you are not going to enforce "10 or less" rule, get rid of the Express Checkout.
