Pelicana Chicken in Rockville was a great lunch find. I went with my son after a busy morning, and we started with the Soy Garlic Dumplings — crispy on the outside, flavorful inside, and perfectly cooked. Then, of course, we had their famous Korean fried chicken — we went with the Sweet & Spicy wings and a side of Corn Cheese. The wings were fried to perfection, crispy on the outside, juicy inside, and that sweet-and-spicy glaze hit all the right notes. The corn cheese was rich, creamy, and honestly could be a meal on its own. I noticed some mixed reviews online — a few one- and two-star comments here and there — but I already had this place on my list to try, so we went anyway. Honestly, we had no issues at all. Everything came out hot, tasty, and exactly as expected. We left completely satisfied and would definitely come back to explore more of the menu.

We ordered the king pork cutlet, original rice cake, and sweet & spicy chicken. The king pork cutlet was too thin and dry. The original rice cakes were chewy, but the texture wasn’t very pleasant, and the sauce was just so-so. I’ve honestly had better from frozen packs at the supermarket. The chicken itself was fried well, as expected from a chicken place, but the sauce tasted a bit bland. Overall, not somewhere I’d be excited to revisit.

I saw the Pelicana Chicken sign, I opened the restaurant door and went in, and I thought I went in wrong at first because a stand with Korean snacks and ramen was placed in the center of the passage from the entrance to the dining hall. So I came out again and checked the sign, and it was Pelicana Chicken. I usually eat Pelicana Chicken at the Irvine or Buena Park branches in California, and the chicken at both locations is delicious. However, the chicken I had here was so different from the taste I had in California. The chicken wasn’t marinated well. Portions were generous, but each piece was so large it was difficult to eat. So, I ended up leaving the chicken behind. The restaurant is spacious and the staff are friendly, but the chicken, most importantly, was disappointing. I wish they‘d removed the snack and ramen stand at the entrance.

I came here because of an IG reel. But this was probably the worst Korean food to come out from a professional kitchen I’ve had in years. Everything was over-fried, stale, and just done wrong. The king donkassu which is a super thin pork-cutlet was dark brown, not golden, and hard to chew with a sesame dressing instead of a proper donkassu sauce. The Korean corn dogs were the kind that you can buy frozen at the grocery store and clearly not made in house. And I’ve never had a kimchi pancake that had the texture of a fried pita chip before. Absolutely awful experience. Do not recommend. Idk how you mess up such simple staples. And it’s crazy to charge $8 for ramen I can buy at the market as a base price before adding any toppings

Seoul Kitchen has an incredible boneless chicken — the best chicken in this area. Especially the Snow Onion flavor; it’s a taste I’ve never had before. I want to keep coming back just to eat this.

The food here is amazing. The flavor is super good, we recently tried the bulgogi quesadilla and it was perfect (not too greasy or too sweet). We love their hotpot’s and recommend their rice cake dishes! 10/10 would recommend - it’s much more than just a chicken place.
