Jaws Topokki

I was a bit hesitant to try this spot. But when my husband asked the staff what is consisted of. He heard fish cake and wanted to try. It was really good! We tried the mild tapokki and gimpap which is similar to sushi. The spicy mayo is not your usual spicy mayo we usually get at other spots. It's different but good! Worth a try! Picture is a half a bowl. Definitely will be trying again.

Location is super easy as it’s one of the first businesses when you walk into HCFM. The employees were nice and informative. I’ve never been so I was going out of my norm to give it a try. My girl friend was wanting to meet up here and try this new spot. I ordered the Tuna Gimbap. It was interesting. I did have to go back and order a side of Sriracha mayo, that was $.50. The taste was something I can say I’ve tried it and I won’t go back for more. My girl friend had ordered some cheese balls, which were tasty. She ordered the Cheese Topokki Soup, Mild. But oh lord was it spicy!! We all tried her soup! It was tasty but holy moly was I dying at the heat!! I downed my Diet Coke ASAP!!😂🌶️I’m glad I was able to try something new.

They're currently in their soft opening phase and took over where The Churro Bar used to be. Jaws has been around since 2007 and they’re a pretty famous chain in S. Korea. At the time I wanted to order, I wasn't able to place an order online and I wasn't able to find a phone number to order head so just headed down to order in person. They are having a 30 % off special now. I originally was going to order 3 gimbap but decided to add a 4th. I got two bulgogi, one pork cutlet, and one fried shrimp. I saved $11.54 with the 30% off deal! After I placed my order, I waited about 15 minutes for them to prepare it which is a good sign if they’re making them fresh per order. After I got home I realized they only gave me one pair of chopsticks. Wow I hope they didn't think I was going to eat all of this by myself haha.... Anyway when my husband got home, he mentioned that he's had better. Other places give the Bulgogi more of a grilled flavor but this was decent. Also it would have been nice if they gave us some of the Korean yellow radish (danmuji) on the side to eat it with. My mother-in-law used to make gimbap when she’d cone over and hers was so good. Overall it was still good and we don't have to go all the way to Diamond Bar when we're craving gimbap now.

I ordered here a few times before great quality good customer service. Tonight not the same after I waited to pick up a take out order, a gentleman just walks out from the right gets handed his order right away as the person behind the counter is looking at me. I have heard establishments like this treat certain customers one way and all others Another way. The order was slapped together and the bowl is sub par. Could careless how good your food was the preferential treatment wink wink nudge nudge not having it not spending a penny here.

Good experience at Jaws. Tempura was yummy and so was their Gimbap.

One word: Delicious! The tteokbokki and service is amazing. Definitely looking forward to coming back again 🤍🙂‍↕️
