Food was good as expected from this kind of place. Not as crowded but always had someone waiting to be seated. The way it works is that you order something then when it’s served and you start cooking you can order again. We weren’t a big group. A group of 4 to be exact. We would order less than the maximum per order. Our 3rd order never arrived until our appetite for more had gone away. So hard to get servers’ attention to refill drinks too. Would say for the price matched with this service, it’s too much as you don’t yet your moneys worth sadly. Maybe other tables had more luck.
I usually don’t do reviews, but the service here was absolutely amazing and so was the food. Britney is an absolute sweetheart and she made our experience memorable! If you’re looking for good service, a fun environment, and GOOD MANAGEMENT! This is definitely the place to go, because of her I’ll definitely be back!
Came here on Sunday 2/15/2026 arrived around 8pm. Was told 10-15 minute wait but ended up waiting at least 30 minutes. We finally get sat just to be told theres no sides available. No salad, no spicy cucumber, no rice paper, etc. I asked the waitress why they didnt let us know beforehand and she said the front didnt know. I then KINDLY asked tor the manager. He never came to our table. I went to the front with the hostess and told her she should let people know they are out of sides. She then says she didnt know and that her manager was right there next to her. He basically seemed like a young newbie. I dont expect to get a discount or free food which they didnt even offer, I just wanted to let him know its messed up for them to waist our time like that especially because I have a hangry toddler. Very unprofessional and zero communication between kitchen and front of house. Not coming back to this lame location. I rather drive all the way to my OG spot in Fullerton or Garden Grove.
We visited GEN Korean BBQ this past Sunday with the family, and it was an amazing experience from start to finish. There was a bit of wait, but I believed it must be good is there was a wait and I was not wrong. The atmosphere was welcoming and perfect for a family outing. Our server, Cristian, was outstanding—attentive, friendly, and always making sure we had everything we needed. The food just kept coming as we asked, and every single dish was delicious and perfectly prepared for our grill. We never felt rushed, and everything flowed so smoothly that we could just relax and enjoy the meal together. From the quality of the food to the excellent service, everything was truly spot on. This was one of those dining experiences where everyone leaves happy and satisfied. We’ll definitely be coming back and ask for Cristian to be our server. Great experience, I highly recommend GEN Korean BBQ
This isn't the best kbqq but our options in the area isn't vast. The price is decent for dinner ($31 pp) and you can pay an extra $20 pp for premium menu (that has wagyu). The regular dinner selection is pretty large. We mostly got steaks (amazing), beef bulgogi, beef intestines, beef ribs, shrimp, mandu, and corn cheese. We also got the bulgogi fries which was awful and cold. Service is ok. They tried but I think they are understaffed or unorganized. Our drinks showed up like 10 minutes after the first round of meat, and getting more ordered took a while. Same with trying to get the check. Ventilation is better than some other kbbq places so that's a plus. Floors were greasy and sticky. Table for 2 was very small and immediately smaller with crowding of plates.
I hadn't been to Gen in a while. We decided to stop by since we had a gift card. On arrival we were offered bar seats since it was just 2 of us. We decided to try the bar and what a mistake that was. I was seated at the end next to what was a station for cups and staff picking up drink orders. We were 10 minutes in when a waitress drops a cup of water. Luckily I did not get wet from the cup but then I stood up to fix my chair and noticed i was standing in a litteral puddle of water! We then ask for forks as we do not know how to use chopsticks and they said they didnt have any at the moment. They were being washed. We waited for at least 20 minutes for forks. Meanwhile we tried to eat what we could with chopsticks. BTW for someone with tendinitis chopsticks are harddd to use. We finally received forks after I asked for a manager. As Im waiting to speak to him I realized the water from the station next to me was dripping water causung my sweater to get wet as well as my napkin. I finally spoke to the manager and his excuse was its a busy night. Which I completely understand but as a manager he should be on top of safety issues like water all over the floor which has nothing to do with being busy. Thats called being neglectful. He should also have a back up for utensils maybe disposibles for those busy nights. He did give us a discount I was not expecting. I give my feedback in hopes that there will be a change not for a discount but still appreciated the gesture. Overall the experience was very underwhelming. Our server was great and kind, food quality was good as well but unfortunately I will never be back. It was the worst experience I've had at a restaurant in a while. Reminded me why we drive to hacienda heights for Korean BBQ.
I brought my family Jan 2nd here expecting a decent experience, but unfortunately it was very disappointing. First, the floors were extremely slippery — honestly felt like a lawsuit waiting to happen. There slippery from the grills being switched so often and not safely the grease falls on the rubber floor. We saw several employees slip and catch themselves. There were napkins and trash on the floor, and managers (gray shirts) walked right past them without picking anything up. It felt like everyone was on autopilot. The service was poor overall. No one seemed to want to be there, and it showed. We had to ask four different people just to get a glass of water. There was no organization at all — staff didn’t seem to know which tables they were helping, and nothing felt coordinated. We brought at 3 different occasions there was a shell fish allergy and the manager just said then don't eat that. Didn't know nor offer to look up the ingredients. To be fair, the food itself was okay, but good food doesn’t make up for unsafe conditions and disorganized, disengaged service. With better management and attention to cleanliness and customer care, this place could improve — but as it stands, I wouldn’t return. It's a choice and a certain responsibility to work in the hospitality industry. It's not for everyone. - I would rather spend my money in a mom and shop where they care and happy you're there.
