Tried Yume in Montebello and really liked it. Cozy vibe with warm lighting and booth seating, and everything looks great for photos. The Premium Sushi Combo was fresh, thick-cut, and beautifully plated. The truffle unagi sashimi was a standout, especially the truffle one. We also ordered the Ex-Girlfriend Roll — it’s no rice, super soft and delicate, and surprisingly good. The cocktails were pretty and tasted great, definitely something a lot of girls would enjoy. Nice spot for a date.

We had an amazing New Year’s Eve dinner at Yume Japanese Restaurant. The omakase experience was excellent and the atmosphere truly felt like being in Japan. Everything we ordered was fresh and delicious, especially the Kumamoto oysters, sweet shrimp, uni, and jumbo scallops. The truffle unagi sashimi was a standout. Great service, great vibes, and perfect for dates or family gatherings. Will definitely be back.

A Hidden Japanese Gem Just 20 Minutes from LA’s SGV Chinese Community The moment you walk into this Japanese restaurant, it really feels like you’ve been transported to Japan 🇯🇵. The space blends traditional Japanese design with a modern touch—clean, stylish, and full of atmosphere. At the sushi bar, you can watch experienced sushi chefs carefully preparing each piece right in front of you, which is such a plus ✨. The seating is spacious, so it never feels crowded. It’s great for families with kids, group gatherings, or casual meals with friends—the overall layout feels very comfortable 👍. It’s right by Montebello, and it’s only about a 20-minute drive from the SGV Chinese area, so getting here is super convenient. They have a huge variety of hand rolls, which makes choosing really fun. We ordered the Grab Hand Roll Combo, so we could try multiple flavors in one go. Right now they also have a Hand Roll Buy 1 Get 1 Half Off deal—such a great value 👏. What we tried: 🍛 Jalapeño Cheese Curry Katsu – aromatic curry with a hint of spice and cheese, crispy and comforting 🍜 Tonkotsu Ramen – rich but not heavy, super flavorful broth 🍣 Shrimp Crunch Roll / Cali-Land Roll / California Roll – nice texture and layers, not spicy 🍞 Uni Toro Toast – must order!! 100/10 ❤️ 🍱 Yume Premium Sushi Combo – beautifully plated, very fresh fish 🌮 Takoyaki / Crispy Squid Leg / Oyster Ichiban – perfect bar snacks, especially with drinks 👍🏻 For cocktails, we ordered: 🍹 Lychee Glow and Soju Sunrise Both were pretty, refreshing, and paired perfectly with sushi. Definitely coming back again!

It's great value for money, with generous portions. The cheese in the pork cutlet rice is delicious, the sea urchin sushi is sweet and flavorful, and the salmon is also good. Overall, I recommend it.

The food is excellent. If you are in the area, go eat here. I knew the price was worth it right away when I saw the food. And I did not regret it after eating. For the around same price as other restaurants that give me thin slices of eel, Yume gave me basically the whole eel. I am amazed and grateful. I think this is an honest, authentic restaurant with high quality food.

The food here was amazing! We were looking for a Japanese place for dinner and chanced upon this gem! 10/10 would recommend for some good Japanese sushi rolls and dishes!

Food: a good Japanese cuisine spot with fresh 🍣 Service: semi-attentive service because it took us some effort to flag down our waitress for a check and togo boxes. Atmosphere: very cool interior as if you are sitting in a legit Japanese restaurant in Japan.
