Jin Ju

his was my first time ever having Korean food, and it was amazing. Not entirely what I expected, but in the best way. I came with a friend who knows the cuisine well and handled the ordering for the table, so I knew I was in good hands. Our server was incredibly kind and helpful, guiding us on what Soju to try and checking in throughout the meal. The restaurant itself felt chic and modern with a calm, welcoming atmosphere. If I ever make my way back to Chicago, this will definitely be one of the first places I return to.

This was my first time dining at this restaurant, and I must say the dishes I ordered were absolutely delightful. You can truly taste the authenticity of the Korean cuisine. I also love the way each dish was beautifully plated, which added even more depth to the experience. The restaurant has a unique vibe and an amazing atmosphere that makes it stand out. The server was very attentive, and the host was welcoming and kind. Jinju has truly set the standard for Korean dining. I will definitely return to try more dishes and highly recommend this restaurant to everyone. 💙🇰🇷

I had a lot of reservations to leave a review but I think I should. I went to Jin Ju in late October 2025 with a family member on a Saturday evening. They were nice, the food tasty, but was not fresh. I guess on a bad day, this restaurant serves old food that is going bad. For example, we ordered the fried chicken wings appetizer, and we got a heavily sauced large drumsticks; we werea little confused how huge the chicken wing part, that looks like the drumstick. I guess I should have asked a waiter, "where are the wings?"But decided not to be so picky. Biting into the meat, it tasted good with a lot of heavy sweet sauce, but there was an underlying taste of stale chicken, definitely not fresh and maybe beginning to go bad...I know that taste and I really should have stopped eating it. I had one peace and a little bit of another piece. Afterwards, I got sick: my face broke out, had stomach pains, dark circles beneath my eyes and a yeast infection....Basically food poisoning. My symptoms lasted a few weeks. At the time I did notice other dishes were not as fresh; they were left overs or reheated. Because of its of this experience, I will never go there again. Service were great and they were kind, but i will never trust their food again.

Ordered the Dak Bulgogi. Was very flavorful and I enjoyed the little side dishes. 2nd visit: Chap Chae (beef). Delicious.

I have been here many times and the food is always spot on and consistent! Quality is amazing for its price! The spicy dishes are truly spicy which I appreciate. I love their bulgolgi, bibimbap, kalbi, and fried chicken. Their dishes are savory, sweet, and addicting. If you like seafood, you will like their stone pot dish chu gu mi dol sut bibimbap. I will definitely come back to try other dishes. Ambience and service are great! It’s a good sit down restaurant for a relaxing or romantic dinner with a couple of cocktails!

Seriously some of the best sophisticated Korean food in the city. I enjoy no frills Korean cuisine as well (think Joong Boo, SGD), but Jin Ju has a unique and special atmosphere to it, not to mention the food is absolutely delicious. Must try
