Washington English Center

At the Washington English Center, we learned a lot, learned to understand and communicate, and made many friends. The teachers are very responsive, always try to conduct interesting classes and maintain good feedback with students. The administration of the English course center is very friendly, they arrange various parties, create a warm atmosphere in the center. At the end of the fall semester, a graduation party was held, where all the graduates received a positive charge, had fun from the bottom of their hearts and congratulated each other. let me talk about my experience in DC first… I came to DC in Jan 2022 and I went to (English Language Institute) in Washington, DC to take english classes.. ELI was horrible and I was paying $900 per month ($2,700) for a term. they were taking advantage of students (especially F1 Visa students) and adding new classes every month I wasn’t F1 visa but they were taking advantage of me too and they didn’t tell me that you need to pay less since you’re permanent resident that’s why I wanted to mention their name for all people to know their tricks. all students were rich & from middle east and speak Arabic during class and teachers wouldn’t stop them. I left there and I searched everywhere and I found this Center! and amazing center!! when I saw prices I shocked $200 for a term (3 months) I couldn’t believe it. I read and asked and then I registered and I started in this beautiful center! The WEC staff are amazing, teachers are nice and I love them a lot and I already registered for next term. Also we learn a lot in WEC, American history, Culture are examples. I love my teachers and my classmates and I wish I had found it earlier… I highly recommend everyone to study in this beautiful center……

I have been enjoying every single class here. The teachers and staff are professional and friendly. My English has definitely improved, and I feel so much more confident now!

I really appreciated the well-structured lessons, the opportunity to meet open-minded people from different cultures and the constant encouragement and respect shown by the teachers. A truly inspiring and supportive environment!

I have volunteered at the Washington English Center for over 15 years (with occasional breaks) and will continue to volunteer there as long as possible. It's a fabulous organization that makes a tremendous difference in the lives of hundreds of people every year. The volunteer commitment is fairly minimal, but the satisfaction is very high! Don't be intimidated by the idea of teaching English - WEC will give you plenty of support!

I can’t speak highly enough of WEC as a volunteer. I’ve just finished my first term as a teaching volunteer, and being at WEC has regularly been the best part of my week. My fellow volunteers care deeply about the students, our students are enthusiastic to learn and support one another, and the WEC staff are consistently going above and beyond to make the center a welcoming place. One of the things I’ve been especially impressed with is how consistent and clear the communication is with volunteers. We’re given clear guidance, materials, and an amazing amount of resources to use and draw from including curriculum, training, access to technology, and one-on-one consultations for lesson planning. WEC staff are organized, kind, and knowledgeable. This term has been a fantastic experience, and I look forward to volunteering in the future in their in-person or online classes, or through their tutoring program. Especially as someone who is in DC for certain seasons and out of DC for others, I like knowing I may be able to volunteer with them even if I’m not able to be physically in DC. If you’re looking for a rewarding way to volunteer that will deepen your appreciation for people from many different cultures and places, WEC is a wonderful organization to lend your time and effort towards.

Your English language center programs and staff are great. I have been 3 terms here as a student and 2 terms as a volunteer teacher. I have learned a lot from you.My English speaking and American accent has improved a lot.Thank you managers and staff and the caring and kind teachers who have helped and encouraged us.I am grateful and appreciative and wish you all the bests 🙏🌺🙏
