American Councils for International Education

Recently we took an ACIS tour to Istanbul where we discovered a whole new world! The tour included cooking lessons with discussion about the local farm to table tradition. In our itinerary was included a guided visit to three mosques. The trip was complete with an afternoon excursion to a souk where the stands included local treasures. What an easy way to learn about the Turkish people. It was a lasting experience!!

I would not recommend American Councils to anyone who likes to have control over the medications that are put into their body. They confiscated medication that I relied on, left me to deal with the withdrawal symptoms, then had me take Russian benzodiazepines (which are banned in almost every other country) for six weeks. After all that, they ghosted me and my family when we tried to address what happened. I genuinely caution against participating in any study abroad program with them if you have ongoing medication needs. Even your personal medications you have brought from home are not off limits for them to meddle with. Your rights to medical and bodily autonomy have very soft boundaries with American Councils.

American Councils is a great organization that brings together people from different parts of the world. I am really grateful for the major role they have played in my life!

American Councils is in charge of the managing the scholarship program that sent me to study abroad. They also organized an incredibly helpful training opportunity for alumni, which is when I visited the building.

American Councils For International Education is an incredible organization. They provide life-changing opportunities for students. I was one of those students, and I am incredibly grateful!

For our lunch n day trip, everything met n passed our expectation. Had a wonderful time meeting exchange students from all over the world.
