Tointon Academy

Ms Solana is a bad advocate for the children at this school, i hear too many horrible stories from other parents about this staff member. I even have some complaints about her myself, i wish she treated the kids at this school better and make this school a safer environment for children to feel safe in.

My biggest complaint is drop off and pick up. I seen too many accidents and kids almost getting hit. Parents/Guardians need to be more aware of their surroundings and stop speeding anywhere near the school. I wish there was a volunteer program for traffic control here as well because so many people are causing bad traffic and wait times because they want to drop their kids off in the pre k parking lot. Going in and out of that area is the dumbest set up for the busiest times in the day.

A wonderful school but the parking lot is crazy and this year in 5th grade a kid got angry and went crazy and broke glass by the door in ms stickers class otherwise amazing school

6th grade Mr ruby is yelling at us and has cussed at us a couple of times. For example my friend has dyslexia and can't read so she asks for help and he just says "re read the question or the story" and when she tries to explain how she can't read it correctly he says " I dont want to hear your excuses" he has made me cry a couple of times when I get home,he is mean and expects the students to teach themselves.

The seventh grade science teacher doesn't know how to teach. She only puts on videos, yells over them and expects us to understand half the things she and the video is saying. half of these lessons aren't even lessons its just "listen to ms. danyta yell at the class and watch a video!" we don't even take notes like a normal classroom. she expects us to teach ourselves. she barely explains anything.

I give it 2 stars because the first year at Tointon was great. We are now in year 2 and I have two children who attend this school, one in K and one is 1st. A few scratches on my developmentally delayed child led to them calling cps on me. Of course nothing came of it but what happened to talking to the parents? They lost my son on day 2 for 3 hours on a bus. They had every bus in Greeley pulled over. I really should have stopped trusting them then. Don't trust the social worker, assistant principal and my sons 1st grade teacher, who does my sons work for him because she probably gets annoyed at his delay, and syncs him up with 5th graders with worse grammer than a 2 year old. This school can't and shouldn't handle kids with special needs. I will be filing a complaint with the CDE. I will update.

The 6th grade math teacher is the strictest person alive. She gets mad at us for missing school when we are sick and makes us work on missing work during recess. I'm in T.I. and I asked her "hey can I work on it during T.I." she said no and it's what I get for missing school. I had a fever the day before.
