Champions Martial Arts South Park Slope (7Ave)

Champions Martial Arts South Park Slope is a wonderful dojang where my daughter has progressed over the years to achieve 2 black belts. The masters have been very structured in teaching classes focusing on a disciplined approach where the students can accomplish their goals. I would highly recommend Champions for anyone including novices who are looking for a way to find physical activity in a safe and fun environment.

We love Champions! I have two kids who take 2 classes/week and are members of the Leadership Club. At first, we were nervous about the six month commitment but after renewing several times over the course of two years, our kids still love taking classes (now 4x per week including the leadership club classes) here. Master Song, coach Eddie, and coach Melissa are all super special people who extend plenty of compassion, understanding, and motivation towards our kids. We really appreciate them as excellent adult role models. Master Song is a complete professional and has amazing skills for dealing with kids of all kinds. It’s touching to watch him during belt tests; he normalizes feeling nervous, encourages hard work and self reliance, and helps the shy kids find their voices (literally). They also offer day camps which my kids always enjoy. I can’t say enough about Champions: 10 out of 5 stars for this gem!

So amazing! Thanks to Master Bang, my kids have changed so much—in the best way! They’re more focused, confident, and so much more outgoing now. They used to be shy and quiet, but these days they speak up, take initiative, and get along great with others. We signed up just for exercise, but honestly, it’s been a life-changing experience. Master Bang is amazing. Highly recommend this dojang!

UPDATE: My 6 year old daughter has now started her Taekwondo journey, and it’s awesome. Her confidence and strength have developed so much in just a few months. My older son is also continuing to enjoy and benefit from Taekwondo in so many ways. He’s now a member of the Leadership Club! We love Champions and especially Master Song who is incredibly adept at meeting kids where they are and supporting them in going farther! Plus, my kids tell me all the time "Taekwondo is so fun!" … I cannot say enough good things about CMA! My son has never been interested in organized sports or physical activities, but he LOVES Taekwondo and CMA. He is flourishing there thanks to the patience, encouragement, and expertise of the instructors. Master Song, Master Yoon, and Master Yoo are the BEST. They not only teach the physical skills, but also focus, discipline, and respect. They do it so gently too. It’s really something to see. We simply love this place!!!

Our son has embraced champions- gained confidence, excitement and loves working with all the amazing coaches! Tea & Enzo are both excelling with master song at champions. They love black belt club and seeing themselves get stronger!

5 Stars! We absolutely love this Taekwondo school! Our child has grown so much in confidence, discipline, and respect since joining. Master Bang is not only a skilled martial artist but also an incredible teacher who truly cares about each student. The classes are well-structured, fun, and engaging. Our child always looks forward to going to class and comes home excited to show what they’ve learned. We’re so grateful to have found this school. Highly recommend it to any family looking for a positive, empowering environment for their kids!

Absolutely incredible! Champions Martial Arts has been an amazing experience for both of my kids, aged 4 and 5. Master Song is an exceptional instructor — kind, patient, and so engaging. He has an incredible way of connecting with the kids, making each class fun while still instilling important lessons about discipline, respect, and focus. My children absolutely love going to class, and I’ve seen them grow not only in their taekwondo skills but also in confidence and respect. The positive environment, professional staff, and Master Song’s leadership truly make this studio a standout. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a top-notch taekwondo school!
