Hana Makgeolli Brewery & Tasting Room

As the only makgeolli brewery in the US, this spot offers some amazing Korean rice wine. They have a variety of different makgeolli options, such as ones made with black rice or even cherry-infused ones. The staff is super friendly and nice and the ambiance here is perfect for a date night. They also have some food options to enjoy with your drink!

We had an absolutely amazing time!! We arrived before our reservation and they were able to seat us early which was deeply appreciated! We got the house flight (chrysanthemum was our favorite) and the braised tofu and kimchi, which was incredible!! But the star of the show: BANANA MILK!!! It was probably one of the best cocktails I've ever had!! Julie was the absolute best and made our visit that much more special!! We will definitely be back!!!

Really enjoyed the different types of makgeolli. Very kind staff too. The yakju 14, the clarified one, was my favorite because of how different it was from the regular makgeolli. The pajeon was a nice side snack to eat alongside these drinks.

A unique and delicious makgeolli tasting experience. My favorite was the banana milk, mint cocktail, and hwachae with watermelon juice. The space is small but well designed with great taste. Will come back to try their food as well!

The best Makgeolli ever! I normally do not like Makgeolli because the commercialized brands put in a lot of sweetener. But Hana Makgeolli’s Takju and Hwaju is minimal yet rich. Tastes very fancy, almost like clean wine. Yakju tastes like white wine without the sweetness containing only the aroma ending with crisp notes. I bring my Korean friends here to entertain because Hana Makgeolli’s flavor profile isn’t something I’ve seen in Korean market. I do want to point out that the flavor of hwaju seems to be slightly varying from bottle to bottle. I’ve purchased two bottles that seemed a lot more sour than others bottled I’ve tasted.

Stopped in on an early Sunday afternoon before it was too full. Very friendly and helpful staff that guided us through their Makgeolli selections as we did their house flight. We enjoyed that and their tofu and kimchi dish with rice that was a great accompaniment and was a bigger portion than we were expecting. We also tried few of their cocktails that features their house brews as ingredients. While the makgeolli honestly didn't shine through super clear for us, the drinks were still really good. A great playlist and relaxing atmosphere really made this perfect for a chill Sunday afternoon stop.

A very hard to find location more like hidden in alley. The place was too small not even 15 people could fit in there. Pajeon was just a regular taste, can't say it was great you should go all the way there to taste them like. The most importantly their Makgeolli was just regular taste. Not that great not too bad.
