Northtown Mall has a rating of 3.9 out of 5 based on over 7193 reviews on Google
I see recent 5 star reviews of this place. They must be paid off as this mall is not close to the decent mall it once was. Very few chain stores left. On weekdays, many stores not open and one even had a sign up to call and they will come. Burlington was only store with a decent amount of action going on. Ragstock is a good remaining store and the puppy store does have cute puppies.
Not the mall of old that was booming In my childhood. I hate to see the mall fail. Seems the owner is taking rent yet again driving out stores. They can't make it if you charge that much. The owner bought the mall super cheap and doesn't care to advertise or even try to keep up. Bathrooms are nasty. I feel bad to the store owners. I love Northtown mall and would love to see it succeed and it can be done but current greedy owner doesn't even try. Previous owner did the food court revamp and tried to update some at least. Current one just wants money and has no consideration for stores or the mall itself. Is small costs can't be that bad. I would love to manage it better and advertise and put it back on the map. I hope a new owner who cares comes in. Making the mall thrive is very doable if your not so greedy. I love the mall itself due to nostalgia but it's dieing due to owner greed and neglect.
Most of the stores are empty or closed and they still have items in them, but don't lift the gate even at 2 pm. The Asian market coming soon has been coming for ten years. I also see it's up for sale again. If you wanted pictures with Santa, there were no lines for waiting. This use to be a great mall
It’s okay, not that much here apart from RAGSTOCK my fave new clothing store & a pet store with only small dogs to see through a window, & you can’t take pictures! Well what if someone wants to show another person a pic, in case they’re interested in a dog? The food court is Aunt Annie’s & Bubble Tea. The only fun things for kids to do there is ride the train (not working the day I went), play on electric animal rides, jump on some trampolines with ropes to let them flip, there’s a virtual reality ride for $12/2 people, tried it & that was fun. Yet there are better malls like MOA!
The most recent shooting at Northtown Mall happened on June 13, 2025. It was in the parking lot and sadly, a 15-year-old boy lost his life. On top of this there was another shooting recently this year before that and there was another shooting here close to it across the street last year. This mall has a lot of gang activity and a lot of prime activity this mall also has a lot of homeless activity going on. This mall is dangerous. And this mall is a complete ghost town as well, there are so many stores closed down here I've lost track as of today July 14th 2025 I counted 10 stores that were closed here. This mall needs to shut down and turned into one big giant homeless shelter If you want my opinion but I do not recommend going here because there's nothing to do it's very empty.
I know there's been an ad for a store here, so I figured I should get around to sharing my experiences here... Yes, there absolutely are shootings here, I was present for one of them and still remember hiding with my friend in the back of Ragstock (which had pretty good stuff, but also has other locations). Luckily it was just gang activity and no civilians were hurt from what I'm aware, but gods, this place is shady as hell. Do not recommend, lol. Pretty sure I saw someone get arrested at one of the entrances when we were going in, too; or maybe it was the other time I went, it's been a bit. Speaking of the other time I went, I did not in fact learn my lesson! Despite very solid proof that it's not exactly safe there, I decided to go back later on, out of some sort of twisted curiosity I suppose. Nothing happened in the mall that time, but in the parking lot, I'm confident I saw a car with a bullet hole in one of its windows. Long story short, it is very likely that if you go to this mall you will encounter some form of criminal activity, and that activity may end up threatening or even taking your life. Don't bother. It's not even a very appealing mall, to be quite frank. You can and will find a better location, I promise. But hey, at least the Hot Topic was cool!
Super chill mall. Quiet and nice place to take a break. The Best Buy closed I loved that store. The mall has a lot of stores that you should check out. Lots of diversity and small businesses. The food court has lots of options and the food is really good. I have a pleasant experience in most of the stores.
