Karen Allen Salon - Temecula Promenade Mall

(PART 1/2, Since I can't post all in one review section. "Part 2" is in the "Specialites" section of this review) CLIENTS BEWARE I was highly recommend to come here. While looking around in the salon at the other Stylists and their clients I can see why that is. Unfortunately, that was not my experience. At my phone consultation I was advised and scheduled for the expert level, due to what I was asking for. Which is fine. I was guaranteed that my stylist has experience with the color and cut I was wanting to get. When i arrived my Stylist was almost 20ish mins late. Which is fine, life happens But I was not notified about this, not from the front, not from any employee, abd most definitely not even from the stylist (no apology or acknowledgement that she was running completely late. Does not set up a great first impression. However, I gave grace). She brought me back to the chair and immediately wanted to discuss color. I requested we speak about cut first. Reminder, I have never spoken to this stylist bbefore. I made sure to show her the video (with the color im wanting) I asked for her to follow that and two other photos for color. I also showed her photos for the cut I was looking for (specifically bangs). Every choice I was wanting for my hair she was explaining to me why it wouldn't work. I was being understanding with what she was saying and even deciding to alter the cut and color since she kept coming up with reasons and excuses why my bags wouldn't work on me, or why my cut wouldn't work, etc. Fine. She told me the price, did not mention there can be added costs. The only reason why I said okay was becuase I thought we had agreeded upon the color and placement I was looking for and and comprised on the cut and bangs. She was suppose to leave a veil on my head on my natural color. And color was supposed to be from under the veil to the nape of my neck . She only color 4 thin rows of bleach on my head. When she finished, I asked her what is happening and what is going on and why the bottom half of my hair is not getting bleach she said that the pictured show black hair. I was confused, but I was trusting the process. Since she said it looks like I will need more bleach. She went to the back to get more bleach (so im expecting there would be more that is colored on my head, which is whats expected, since thats what we disscussed and agreeded upon. I was wrong). She even told me that the color I was looking for "calico" was something shes never heard of or done before. This annoyed me becuase I was guaranteed that the expert stylist they were scheduling me with has done calico before and has done the cut and bangs I was looking for. Since that is what was told to me and why I was getting charged the highest price at the salon. I later found out she only added more bleach to the 4 thin rows she initially bleached and did not color the rest of my head. She also did not follow the video, as what we agreeded upon. The bangs we agreeded upon, was nonexistent. The placement of where she put my bangs wasent even where my part was and that was the reason why she said no to my oringial request for bangs. Even asked for her to cut more and she seemed hesitant. It felt like she was nervous and rushing through the entire appointment . When I went to the front to check out and pay for the services . I was not expecting her to add more money to my service. I was already getting charged for an exorbitant amount of money for the color. Cut (and bangs) that was NOT even achieved, after an agreemeent of what the expected results was to be. Which ultimately frustrated me more. Samira provided a great experience from the beginning to the end. I showed her two pictures of styles that I wanted. She was able to convey the exact things that I liked from those pics onto my hair. She got my hair to the perfect blonde that matched me perfectly. I walked out feeling like a different person and felt so excited with my new look. She was also a joy to talk to with.

Rebecca was awesome and executed my desired look perfectly. She engaged in pleasant and professional conversation and was very friendly. Rebecca was knowledgeable and recommended products that I did purchase at the end of my services. She provided me with helpful tips to use in between services and have a good time line to return for upkeep. While I was unable to schedule my next appointment at the end of my visit due to unknown future scheduling on my end, I will return and would definitely request Rebecca for my future services.

We visited Karen Allen Salon based on my friend's recommendation, and she was absolutely right! The salon has a warm and welcoming atmosphere, and the staff is incredibly kind and attentive. My daughter had her first-ever salon haircut here. It took a long time for her to feel ready for someone else to cut her hair, but Holly made the experience wonderful. She was so patient and gentle, walking my daughter through the style she wanted and explaining how it would turn out. Holly didn’t disappoint..my daughter loves her new haircut and couldn’t stop talking about how nice Holly was! Thank you, Holly, for making my daughter’s first salon haircut such a great experience!💯😊

Aponi was so patient with me. I was having a hard time trying to explain what i wanted from my haircut. She listened and tried different things until we got it right. I left the salon with exactly what i wanted. She truly did a great job. She also used hair products that were catered to my hair type and explained what they were. I ended up purchasing one she used because i loved what it did to my hair. All around great experience as a first time client trying to find a new hairstylist since my last one retired.

Spencer was amazing! My hair is gorgeous and he made me feel very comfortable and at ease. I’ll definitely book with him again. My daughter also books with Gentry for color and she is amazing as well. You can’t go wrong with Karen Allen Salon!

This was my first time seeing Maria, and she was absolutely incredible. She took the time to truly understand my hair goals and the specific challenges I’ve had in the past. Not only did she meet my expectations, she completely superseded them! I am beyond happy with the results. If you’re looking for someone who actually listens and delivers, I highly recommend her
