Be Kekoa Salon

BEST SALON EXPERIENCE EVER!! It can be a challenge to find someone who does natural, curly hair so I feel extremely fortunate to have found Be Kekoa salon in Temecula and in Palm Desert. I have gone to both locations. The team is incredible. They are so friendly and they make you feel good about your hair the moment you walk in. It is a safe space. Having natural hair, as a Black person, can feel isolating; people don’t understand it, but the team here understands! I learned so much about my own hair and how to care for it. I also love the natural products that the owner, Brandie, has created. It makes styling simple and easy.

Came in for some much needed hair maintenance with Kai! I was dealing with a really sensitive dry scalp, so she suggested a scalp treatment and a deep conditioning. The head massage with the spa treatment was to die for, so relaxing!💆🏻‍♀️The overall vibe of this salon and the people that work there adds so much to the experience. The decor and all the plants make it feel so luxurious! Also, Kai is such a sweetheart, she makes you feel so comfortable and at-home instantly. As someone who deals with occasional anxiety, that is definitely important! After the deep conditioning, she gave me a quick trim and style, and my mane was so soft and happy afterwards. 💁🏻‍♀️ I know this is typically a curly hair salon, but Kai dealt with my wavy/straight hair with finesse and ease. I don’t dye or highlight my hair anymore, but I would still definitely recommend this place, even if you just need a quick refreshing condition and trim! Thanks again Kai and Be Kekoa!!🌸💕

I went to see Kai for my birthday hair, and I absolutely loved my hair ! I brought in inspo photos for highlights and a cut, and Kai nailed it perfectly. My curls came out so defined, and I left with the dream look I was hoping for. Kai made the whole experience amazing and made sure to check in with me multiple times during the process. I’ll definitely be coming back for retouches and curl healing in the future!

I’ve had mixed feelings about writing this review which is why it has taken me so long to write. I came here last year for birthday hair. On one hand, I was grateful they tested coloring my hair before coloring my entire head. They were right and my hair was not in the state to be colored and did not align with my hair goals. I am glad they were honest and direct with me. I truly believe they changed the trajectory of the life of my hair. The owner taught me about steaming my hair on a weekly basis, and the importance of hydration and moisture. These are long lasting tips that have really taken my hair to a healthier place. I also appreciated the uplifting vibe overall and encouragement they instilled in me throughout my hair session. I went to see stylist, Kai, from an instagram ad I saw. I had a decent experience, but felt like the price I paid was expensive for what I received in the end. I did not feel that pricing was transparent and wanted to have a follow-up conversation about it. I was then blocked by Kai instead of being spoken to directly with Kai. The next appointment I had scheduled, did not go as planned. I ask if it was ok to reschedule an appointment I had later that day. I called first thing in the morning because I was feeling sick. I don’t ever cancel appointments especially hair appointments as I realize how much that impacts the stylist and could potentially impact the income as well. But I was feeling sick and didn’t know if I was contagious or not. When I asked Kai she told me it was ok to reschedule, but later I got a notification she canceled my appointment and my future appointments as well. When I asked to speak with Kai about my concerns, she told me she was grouping me into a group message with the owner. I told her I didn’t feel comfortable doing that without having a direct conversation with Kai first and then she blocked me. I want to paint the full picture and be honest about my experience because this salon I believe has great resources and a great vision. They believe in empowering people from their roots of their hair strands and that is truly beautiful. My experience with the owner was limited but overall positive, but because of my experience as a whole, I cannot recommend this salon.

Brandie, Kai and Ty are the greatest handlers ever of my curls! Walking into BeKekoa Salon has such an amazing energy that you feel warm and willing to try anything or maybe you just don’t know what you’re looking for. Either way they have you! Kai@bekekoa is the best colorist! She got my curls poppin and brighter with full highlights. The Spa Mist treatment gave my curls the hydration boost it was thirsty for. Brandie, the owner did my cut and took the time to get my input and made some suggestions to keep my length. I no longer rely on a whole bunch of different products to maintain my curls. Be Kekoa has their own products that keep me lookin like I did before I left the salon. The Rosewater Mousse is the business! I use way less product now to achieve the definition love! Go let them get in your head and get your curls healed and healthy.

my first proper curly cut was at this salon and i’m so glad i came here for it!! vibes are amazing, such a safe and comforting environment. kai was wonderful, genuinely one of the best hair stylists i’ve had. i was seen right away for my appointment time and got straight to work. kai took the time to educate me on my curl pattern while doing my scalp treatment, while making sure i was comfortable with the whole process. definitely will be a regular here from now on i only have nice things to say about bekekoa and the stylists here. <3

When they say they are the curl healers they are not lying. This place is worth every penny. If your hair is in desperate need of some TLC, run don’t walk to Be Kekoa Salon. The products are amazing and the service is top tier. The hydration treatment is a must, thank me later
