Edellyn is absolutely phenomenal — I cannot recommend her enough! I’ve been going to her for over 10 years and followed her to DBS Salon without hesitation. She is hands-down the best stylist I’ve ever had. Her instincts for cuts, highlights, and styling are spot-on every single time. I always walk out feeling confident and refreshed. She’s incredibly skilled, professional, and friendly, and she has a wonderful ability to make appointments feel relaxing and personalized. And her head massage during the shampoo? The absolute best! DBS Salon is just as impressive — bright, modern, super clean, and welcoming. The entire staff is professional and kind, always offering coffee, tea, or water when you arrive. The salon also features beautiful photography artwork on the walls — I’ve even purchased pieces for my home! Sandra, the owner, is a talented stylist and an amazing business owner who has created a creative, high-quality salon experience. If you’re looking for an exceptional stylist and salon in Sunnyvale, this is the place. Highly, highly recommend!

I’m extremely happy with the haircut Rian gave me. They were incredibly patient and took the time to explain each step of the process as they worked. Rian also shared helpful advice on hair care and products, and did an amazing job overall. The experience felt calm and unhurried, with great attention to detail throughout the cut.

DBS is my happy place. I have been going to Sandra for YEARS. She’s the most skilled colorist and curly specialist I ever met. She has continued to provide me much needed guidance on my curl journey as my curl texture changes with age. Also EVERY time I leave I feel like the woman in the commercial who walks out of the salon looking super hot. Her staff and colleagues are great and *here’s my shout-out to the music selection!* I am easing in my gray, but in the future I have big plans for wild color which she executes stunningly.

Wonderful service overall. I’ve been troubled with not knowing what to do with my fine hair, but Sandra was very kind and attentive with walking me through what she was doing and showing me how to care for my hair to encourage the tiny bit of wave I have. The scalp massage was amazing! More expensive than a regular chain salon, but I believe you get the expertise and experience that matches the price- and different stylist levels have different price points.

Update to the original review 2 years later: in addition to the wonderful things below, I am astounded at how beautifully the cuts grow out - due to my schedule (and budget) I’m not able to get my hair cut as frequently as I would like, and 13 months after my last cut the shape still looks beautiful grown out, which is such a testament to the skill of their stylists. Have also recommended many friends to the salon over the years and all have had rave reviews! What a gift to have this place. Couldn’t recommend this place more highly! Finally made the decision to get my (2C) hair cut at a place that specializes in curly hair and am so, so happy with every part of the process. My stylist Nelly was incredible, she asked about my goals and went above and beyond with a cut that both addressed the concerns I had AND brought out a tremendous amount of natural curl that had been weighed down. Her attention to detail and meticulousness throughout the cut was exceptional. Sandra, the owner, was also in the salon and along with Nelly offered really helpful, science-based hair care and product tips. Won’t be getting my hair cut anywhere else as long as I live in the area and so happy I found this place!!

I went in for a root touch up, after a year and scissor cut after 6 months. Having undercut it myself and messing it up, Sandra graciously fixed it and gave me the bob I wanted! Vina sweetly agreed to give me a color gloss on the fly! Thank you DBS for your impeccable service! I love your team vibe! <3 C~

I booked an appointment with Vina today for haircut and she did amazing on my hair! Her haircut and face framing is perfect. I love the styling on my hair too... my hair is naturally straight and i asked her to give me the style that gives so much volume. She did amazinng. Love all the products were using on my hair... all smell amazing. The salon is also very nice and clean. I will come again when my hair is due for cutting!!
