HALO salon

I visited this salon twice—once in December 2025 and again in January 2026—and paid over $160 for the first visit and $237 for the second (20% tips). Both appointments involved highlights and bleaching. After two sessions, my hair was left extremely uneven and patchy with multiple unwanted tones (reddish, yellow, and green), inconsistent gray coverage, and an overall result that did not meet professional standards. I returned yesterday for a correction, but that experience was even more disappointing. During the appointment, the stylist, Macie, was dismissive when I asked questions. I requested a barrier cream around my hairline to prevent dye staining, but this request was ignored. When I raised concerns about the condition and damage to my hair, I was told this was "normal." At one point, I directly asked whether there was an issue affecting communication during the appointment; this question was not addressed. Communication was minimal, and my concerns were not taken seriously. After two paid appointments and a correction session involving chemical processing, I still did not achieve the look I requested. Instead, I am now having to cover everything with a very dark shade—almost black—to cover the unevenness and damage. I expected professionalism not only in the quality of the work but also in client care and communication. Unfortunately, this was a frustrating experience, and I will not be returning. I want to note that other stylists in the salon appeared friendly, attentive, and very engaged with their clients. The salon itself was clean and well maintained, the parking lot was easy to access with plenty of available parking, and scheduling an appointment through the website was straightforward, with a prompt confirmation email. This was just my unlucky experience.

I will never go anywhere else but Halo Salon and Molly Reed. If you would have told me that at 56 years old I'd get extensions and LOVE them, I'd tell you were crazy. I hate messing with my hair, but after Molly did my color and added extensions, I felt like a whole new person. She is so freaking talented, gave me such confidence I could not only manage long hair but completely ROCK IT. I have been seeing her for just under 3 years now, and honestly, it gets better every time. My color has never been more beautiful or natural, my hair is in great condition, and she is so easy to work with and talk to. The salon is gorgeous, and all the stylists are wonderful and friendly. I've never seen a bad head of hair walk out of that place! Halo rules, and Molly is amazing. Book now, she's a busy woman!

Highly recommend Kayla! She's Absolutely wonderful. She knows how to help with your hair in the most safe and healthy way possible. She is so wonderful to work with and is a little beam of light. I have been going to her for several years and have never been disappointed with my hair.

I have made three appointments and the hairdresser has canceled each time. This is unacceptable. I don’t know how you can keep your business going like this.

Came to Molly for hair extensions, she was perfect at color matching them! She is fun to talk to during appts and was also helpful in providing me knowledge of proper care for my extensions as well! I had an issue where I was having sore spots on my head from the hair being too heavy in that place and once I told her she had me come in ASAP and placed extra beads in a way that IMMEDIATELY alleviated the pain and it was never a problem for me again! Thank you thank you thank you for helping me have the luscious hair of my dreams!

Having recently moved to Reno, I was looking for a stylist to do my hair in a hurry before I went on vacation! Tess went out of her way to get me in before my vacation. She made me feel so welcome and she gave me the exact style and color I wanted. She did an amazing job and I am so thankful for all her hard work. Tess you are amazing and I will definitely be going back.
