My god what a pathetic experience.. Mr. Gary i have no idea why he is doing his work like in a frustrating way.. I spent my entire day there for Japanese hair straightening but the way he did is not good.. He washed my hair in a very aggressive way even my clothes became wet; and when its time for hair straightening i don’t know what kind of hairbrush did he used like they were very painful. Almost 2-3 times he hit my forehead with the brush but he doesn’t even care about it. I mean I am not there for any free services I pay for this but the way he behaves it seems like he is doing a charity for me, no concern towards for his client.. I will never go for this hairstylist again and will not recommend him to anyone

DO NOT go to this hairstylist. I usually don’t leave reviews, but this experience was so disappointing, I had to speak up. I found this stylist through the Cezanne salon locator and booked an appointment thinking I’d only get the Cezanne treatment. But based on his confident reassurances, I also went ahead and got a color service — huge mistake. Here’s what I experienced: 1. He only works weekends and clearly treats this as a side hustle. He came in carrying all his tools in a bag, which made it obvious that he doesn’t operate officially under the salon. It felt like he was working without the store manager’s approval. 2. The appointment message raised red flags. He asked me to come through the back door and even said: "Please walk to the back door pathway entrance... and ask for Hairstylist Gary!" If this were legitimate, why the secrecy? 3. The color we agreed on was completely different from what I got. 4. He overbooks himself. I sat for 1 hour and 15 minutes with product in my hair while he worked on another client he squeezed in. That’s not just unprofessional — it’s careless. 5. He was rough and careless. He yanked at my hair while brushing, used scalding water while rinsing, and didn’t check the straightener temperature. It was painful and uncomfortable. 6. He refused to refund or fix it during the week. When I expressed my disappointment, he insisted I come back only on the weekend — again raising concerns about this being an unofficial setup. He apologized and offered to fix it, but only on his terms. To make matters worse, he failed to inform me that after a keratin treatment, you’re supposed to wait 2 weeks before doing any additional treatments — something another stylist later told me. I’ve been left feeling extremely self-conscious about how my hair looks, after spending $500. I don’t even have the energy to report him to the salon because this entire experience has been exhausting and upsetting. Please save yourself the trouble — avoid this stylist at all

I had a great experience with Gary! He was personable and really listened and confirmed what I wanted before making any changes. I love my new hairstyle and really appreciate him taking my appointment on such short notice. 10/10 great experience

If you want an honest review, read this one. I never leave reviews, but I am extremely distraught about my hair after leaving my appointment. Gary was supposed to give my hair a digital perm/body wave perm—I asked for wavy hair. I showed him inspiration photos. I have naturally straight blonde hair that can be easily damaged if it is not cared for properly. I asked at the very beginning of my appointment if my hair was healthy enough to have this done, and he said it was. He said we weren’t going to use heat because that would damage my hair further. Which was fine. I came in with smooth straight hair. He washed my hair with whatever pre perm shampoo was needed, then proceeded to yank a brush through my WET hair to get out the tangles. I didn’t say anything because he’s supposed to be that professional and I was trying to "trust the process". He put the rollers in, then I sat under the dryer for an hour. He did the neutralizer and whatever else at the sink, and took the rollers out. Back to the chair, and again, he starts yanking a brush through my now WET and PROCESSED hair. I asked if brushing it would damage the curl. He said something noncommittal about needing to get the tangles out. Then, he says he’s going to style it for me. Since I came in for curly hair, I thought this was going to be him showing me what products I would need to use and how it needed to be dried, and what the final result would be. He proceeds with round brushes and rips through my hair, teases the roots, and tries to give me a blow out. I did not ask for a blow out. I came in with straight hair, and left with straight hair, and I have no idea if the perm actually turned out, or if he decided to "style" it to cover up it not turning out. Now I have to wait 3 days to find out if my perm turned out, or I can wash my hair and then I am out $280 and stuck with super damaged and frizzy hair. I am very upset because I love my hair and take extremely good care of it, and in one fell swoop some "professional" RUINED MY HAIR. My hair is what makes me feel feminine and is a huge part of my identity I am angry and distraught that someone could be so careless about someone else’s hair.
