I waited a hour before I got my hair washed and another hour to get my haircut. The whole time the staff was more concerned about the conversations with their regulars than actually cutting hair. I showed them a video of the cut I wanted because I understand there could be a language barrier. He proceeded to not care and not fade my hair properly on the side. I did not have glasses on and could see the error and had to correct him to leave somewhat presentable. He snipped 1/2cm off my bangs and then brushed it back and covered it with gel. $20 for a hair wash and for my hair to be brushed back. I will NEVER come back to this spot
The hair washing was nice. Worst haircut I’ve ever gotten. Barber did not listen to me when I asked for layers and chopped 5 inches of hair off in a straight line. He proceeded to thin the hair with scissors to the point where my hair feels half bald. My hair is very thin and isn’t even layered. Never going back.
I’ve been going here for almost 10 years. Barber Ly has been on point with my haircuts every single time. Skin fade and tapers! If you’re in south Philly and looking for an Asian barber and Vietnamese shop come here!
@JJA, same. I drive here from NJ occasionally just to get a haircut and each trip here was worth it. Come to think of it, I've been going here since I was a kid. The barbers/hairdressers are quick and skilled. I usually get a 3, 2 and the cuts done in 5-10 minutes with no mistakes whereas in a barbershop up in SJ, my cut gets done in a half an hour. By no mistakes I mean there are no unequal patches of hair rising above the other, everything is even.
Christmas Day 2021. I was there waiting to for haircut with my son. There was a customer getting haircut but his hair is extremely short already (1/4 of an inch). The barber kept talking and trimming "air" for 15 minutes (not actual hair being cut since the hair is already short ). This customer was basically paying $ to have a conversation with the barber while 3 others customers waiting. Waste of time. Will not recommend or ever come here again.
I went there today to do a hair treatment. The hair stylist she was crazy . I had an ombr'e high lights . So I told her I just start highlighting my hair this year . And I did my hair last month . She said no way the highlights are down so I'm sure you did it last year I said I don't have to lie to you I did it this year why would I lie to you. I told her my hair was smoother and shiner before the highlights . She said no your hair is so dry and frizzy. Thanks I know that that's why I'm there to do the treatment. She was very rude . And they don't speak good English that's another problem 👎👎👎
highly unprofessional. Friend came in for and ombré and color, we had to bring our own dye because they didn’t have the color, should’ve known it was a red flag to get her hair colored here. Lani constantly complains about how thick her hair is and slathers bleach on in poor sections and poor coverage. At some point she even asked me to put clips in for her. There are no foils besides the front two money pieces. Hair is left in saran wrap for 30-45 minutes and it isn’t until my friend complains that the bleach is very hot that I went to check on it. It was scalding hot and burning her neck. Lani takes the saran wrap off and we see that her hair is steaming, but at this point she says that it isn’t light enough, proceeds to put more bleach on the ends and put her under the heat. Another 15 minutes pass and her hair is rinsed out and is now falling out in chunks. Her entire mid section is over processed and gummy. Lani then asked me to blow dry my friend’s hair while she highlights another lady’s head WITH foils and proper sectioning. If anything I believe she got lazy and decided to slap on the bleach like shampoo (bleach does not lather) Lani says that it is supposed to be like this anytime hair goes under chemicals, but as someone who does hair themself, I know this is not right and she knows she messed up but doesn’t want to take the blame and even accuses my friend that she had dyed her hair before, hence the color not lifting. (her hair is thick asian hair and virgin) Lani continuously refuses to be in the wrong despite chunks of hair falling out and them brushing it, making it worse. After my friend refuses anything more Lani proceeds to say her hair is ugly and they should put the color on anyways. We refused and she offered a hair treatment. This is the most unprofessional place I have been to. If you don’t know what you’re doing, be transparent. My friend is very protective of her LONG hair and I am super upset with this.
