If you have Asian hair and are looking for a no-fuss, SKILLED, lived in cut that looks good right out the chair and while growing out, this is the place. Everyone there is super sweet, detail oriented, and good at interpreting the most obtuse inspo descriptions. I’ve been coming here for almost 4 years after bouncing around other highly rated japanese salons. And I’m pretty sure I’ve gotten cuts by everyone on the team at this point. Yama never disappoints. Booking process is super easy, the rate is pricey, but I feel worth it for 3+ months of good hair days!

Kyle was a magician and incredibly detailed with my cut. I have curly/wavy hair, and he understood it well. I immediately felt safe and trusted him. Not only did I walk away with my favorite haircut, I thoroughly enjoyed our conversation. I was visiting from out of town, made a last minute booking a day before, and had no problem being seen. I am absolutely pleased with my experience. Now I just have to figure out how I’m ever gonna have this good of a haircut again. 😅 Truly can’t go wrong with the standard of a Japanese hair salon. Oh and the head massage was as incredible as other reviews have stated.

Yukari did my first medium bob style more than 10years ago and I loved the wide range of versatility I got in styles that I never went back to long hair. I am not the best in describing what I had in mind, Yukari can always pick up on my desired styles and concerns to recommend a style that turns out fabulous every single time. Talented creative who has the perfect skills to execute on the vision - my experience with Yukari in a nutshell. If you ever want to go for some bold changes on your hair, Yukari is the one to go to.

Junya is the best! He cuts layers and texture into my long, straight hair that lasts for a whole year!! Great scalp massage too.

My haircut with Chika was amazing! She gave me a great consult with what would look good with my hair, thorough hair wash that was relaxing, and the hair turned out so beautiful! My hair is very thick and hard to work with and I haven’t seen it look this good in a while. Would definitely go to Chika again. (I don’t have any good photo currently because it was raining but will attach once I’ve styled it)

Yukari has become my go-to hairdresser! I always leave absolutely loving my haircut and am sure to get compliments. She is very methodical and thoughtful, she's going to spend time with you to really understand what you want, what's best for your lifestyle (do you like to style your hair? do you want something low-maintenance?), and give you her advice on what would work best. I cannot recommend her enough! She is absolutely worth the splurge!

I have never had a haircut at Yama hair salon. However, I have been booking haircuts there for an executive for more than 2 years now and the customer service is excellent. Booking is easy to do online, but if you do pick up the phone - when you call the salon they actually pick up the phone. When I have hit a wall with something that I cannot do/find out online, it is rare for people to actually answer the phone or speak to you when you try to call a business. Yama Salon answers if they are able to, and are always very helpful and kind. Can I promise you will receive a good haircut without having been there myself? No. However, the executive I book for always goes to see Junya, and his hair always looks great. 🙂 He travels to go see him, even though its out of his way. I think that speaks volumes, considering how busy he is!
