This is my second time here. Pretty disappointed, because just like the first time i was put with any random stylist. Two stylists actually. The lady who washed and blew my hair was nice, we had a conversation about the current status of my hair that was helpful. My biggest issue I had with her was the Detangling of my hair. I have fine 4a hair and she did not take her time whatsoever, which leads to breakage and that’s not cool. The same with the blow drying, she was just yanking my hair. I think she was actually the owner. The girl who completed my silk press was pretty much quiet, the whole time no type of friendly demeanor. That’s why I knocked off a star. The reason why I knocked off another star was because when I asked the price the day before, I was told $175 for the olaplex treatment silk press, and a trim. When it came time to pay, I was charged $225. What if I didn’t have the extra money? Not to mention, because the wet towel was on my shirt so long, my hair in the back started reverting curling when I left the salon, I didn’t realize until I got home and took a picture. And my hair came out too oily so it only lasted for about four days. The first time I went was 7/11 a few years back, it wasn’t that oily (blonde pic) and lasted two weeks in the blazing hot summer. This place has so much potential to be a great spot, but they need to be more attentive to the customers, mindful and organized. Instead of being overbooked, treating it like a sweatshop.

Horrible … I went in for a traditional sew in my appointment was for 3:30 PM. However, there was a regular client who booked the same time as me, but with another hairstylist because she made a mistake so the regular person who does her hair, which was the one who was supposed to do my hair the stylist took her regular customer before me therefore I had to wait almost 3 hours after my scheduled time. So when it was FINALLY my turn the stylist just played in my hair with the remaining time I told her I had more than three bundles. She continues to put the back of the bundles in the middle of my head when there was no room so by the time she got to the front, I said I have more hair to put so now my hair is packed in the front and thin in the back. The foundation sucks. I have big old braids. The braids is coming out in the back. I only had this hairstyle in for less than a week and a half, and the Braids is coming out and sticking out. I would not recommend this place to nobody especially if you’re willing to pay for quality, but then you pay quality prices and you get a shitty job…. 0/10 don’t waste yall time or money.

PLEASE don’t go here if you care about your NATURAL hair. I came in hoping to find a salon that specialized in natural hair, but I was sadly mistaken. If I could give ZERO stars, I would! The music was way too loud for a morning appointment, but that wasn’t even the worst part. I originally booked with a specific stylist (based on their instagram videos is how I chose because she specialized in NATURAL HAIR). When I arrived, the girl at the front casually said she wasn’t there without clarifying that the stylist I booked with no longer worked there. Instead, she directed me to another stylist saying "She’s just as talented." That’s where everything went downhill. I asked for a simple cleanup and showed her pictures oh myself… with wispy bangs and all she had to do was freshen up my haircut. Instead of focusing on my hair, she was chatting with another stylist and said things like, "This won’t take me long, I should be done soon," as if she was in a rush. She cut off random chunks of my hair without asking, then used a wig razor on the front, thinning it out so badly that my hair still sticks up to this day. She went over my hair multiple times with the flat iron and I wasn’t even facing the mirror. I came in with healthy 3C/4A bra-strap length hair. By the time she was done, it was so damaged I had to track down the original stylist I had booked with in the first place just to fix it. Because of the beauty caves negligence, I ended up having to cut my long healthy hair into a bob. not only that the wispy bangs I asked for, which were already wispy they were just long are now blunt and thick cut bangs that stick up because she sliced them off with a razor. WITHOUT ASKING ME This was actually my second time at this salon (the first time was just for a wig install years ago), and it’s clear that no one here cares about the integrity of natural hair. If you specialize in wigs and weaves, say that. Don’t pretend you know how to handle natural textures when you clearly don’t. My appointment was in April, and only now after finally getting my hair done by the original stylist at a different salon has my hair started thriving again. !!!!! Stay away if you care about your natural hair. !!!!! In the photos you can see how my hair curls up tight in spirals and after my service it appears straight, loose, & damaged… BEWARE.

Hi! I just finished my appointment at The Beauty Cave. I got a wash, deep condition, and silk press. This is not my first time at the salon. I continue you make appointments because the hair stylist listen to what I want for the most part. The young women at the desk was very welcoming and held good conversation. My stylist was Cadene she was also very kind and did great work! Will definitely be back again!

Service: Wash/Blow/Trim with Deep Condition Treatment This was my first time at this salon and I am well pleased. My stylist was Sharmane and she did a great job. She really took her time during the wash, making sure to really massage my scalp. Then, when she began to detangle, she worked from the ends up. For the blow dry, she did a thorough job. And finally, for the trim, she took off exactly what needed to come off. Not any more, not any less. SB: The reason I did not give 5 stars is because my appointment time was 1:30pm and we did not start until 1:55pm.

After living in NYC for 5 years I have had a hard time finding my beauty salon home. After my first appt with Steph K. and I couldn’t be happier! My hair is beautiful and feels so healthy! She is kind, welcoming and really great at her job! The pricing was competitive and her timing was perfect. Bring back washing your clients hair and caring for the integrity of their hair! This is all I wanted to find in a salon home and I found it here at Beauty Cave! The whole team was kind and that’s so important to the full experience! Already booking my next appt.

Love love this place! So fast, the allowed me to come in without even a prior booking. They were very welcoming and did my hair while having another client. Washed, blowdried and braided down my hair. My wig installation came out great and was melted!
