I went here to get my highlights done and I was super nervous but Liza did an amazing job! I showed her a few pictures but she knew exactly what I was asking for AND helped me achieve the best color for me WHILE keeping my hair healthy. Not to mention, Liza is super funny and sweet and Mr. Kim is such a kind person. I’ll definitely be coming back 🙂 Best hidden gem in the UES Before & after photos attached!

Liza saved my hair with the wash and dry. NY has had a crazy deal of rain and I am visiting overseas with no hair dryer or hair accessories (packed light). Super affordable and personable service. I'm grateful for the previous reviews, it helped me decide on trying MK. Mr. Kim and his entire staff are friendly, professional and above all very experienced. I appreciate his honest opinion. Liza was the my stylist and will be for a very long time. She is amazing. Hair products, cleanliness, professionalism, passionate about their jobs is their Moto. Love Liza! She has been my stylist for years! Excellent service! Always works with me to color my stubborn gray hair by tweaking the formula as needed. She’s kind, patient and a true professional! . Highly recommended her! She gives a great cut, blowout, Keratin and highlights (all services i personally have had. MK Salon has a warm and inviting atmosphere and everyone is always greeted with a smile and warm welcoming from the owner Marshall. Love this place

I had an amazing experience at MK Salon yesterday! As a first-time customer, I was truly impressed. The owner, Kim Marshall, was incredibly sweet, kind, and professional. Liza, who cut and blow-dried my hair, was equally wonderful—such a sweet and skilled professional. She did an excellent job, and I loved how quickly and efficiently she worked while still delivering beautiful results. The salon itself is clean, welcoming, and feels like a hidden gem. They’ve been in the area for a long time, and I can see why—they truly know how to take care of their clients. The prices are very affordable, especially for the quality of service they provide. I highly recommend MK Salon to anyone looking for a great haircut and blow-dry. I’m thrilled to have found my new go-to spot for trims and blowouts! Walked in with no appointment. I wanted a simple haircut, just two inches off, and that's what I got. I said I wanted "shampoo, cut, and dry" verbatim, which on their website was $60-$70. I was charged $130. The stylist said it was because I asked for a blow dry (I think she meant blow out / styling), if it was only shampoo and cut it would have been $70, but shampoo and cut is listed as only $45-$55 on the website. The stylist said it was $50 for a blow out, and the website doesn't list a price for blow outs. The haircut was fine but the pricing was scammy. Won't be coming back. Edit in response to owner's response: I didn't leave this review in hopes of getting a refund, I just wanted to inform other people who may want to come here. The haircut was fine, the blow out was fine - nothing to complain about the service! A service was provided, received, and paid for. The point of my review is that the pricing was misleading. The stylist did not tell me, before the service, "a shampoo and cut is $x." Also, when she asked "Would you like a blow dry?" I would have appreciated if she said "a blow dry is $50 extra" because then I would have been informed to say no. The website said "shampoo, cut, and dry" - I thought the blow dry was the "dry" part and was included. I literally did not know any upcharge until I went to the cash register and she said it was $130. Also, your website does not say "$60-$70 and up", it said "$60-$70," and I reasonably thought $70 was the max. Even if it was "$60-$70 and up," if a service ended up being $130 like how I was charged, I would also call that pricing misleading. I would expect "and up" to represent 30% more than base at max. It's unintuitive to me that someone would say "it costs this much as the base price, but since you have long hair we are adding a 100% surcharge and now it costs double the amount quoted on the website." I came to this salon in particular because of the pricing - I wanted a simple haircut and didn't want to pay more than $80 for it, and I ended up paying almost double.

On a whim while spouse was getting her hair done, had Marshall cut my hair. It’s been 1 week now and I still look good so very glad my wife found this place. Great haircut
