Kim sun young Hair salon “KSY”

I've had a long layered hair for over 20 years, and basically, I have tried pretty much every Asian place in Manhattan for the same style. This is the place that I keep going back. The hair cut is so meticulous that it keeps fresh and continues to look good for full 6 weeks. The price is more than reasonable for the level of hair cut you get. I've also tried color service here and I am very satisfied (they use Goldwell hair color, which is the best). Highly recommended!

I've been going to this hair salon for the past 15+ years and have never been disappointed! Now if I need a haircut or any sort of styling alternations I come here religiously! All the barbers are friendly and do their best to match your needs! I highly recommend to anyone who needs their hair done to come and give this salon a chance! I promise you won't regret cause I sure haven't!

​I have been a faithful client at Kim Sun Young NYC for over 10 years, and I continue to go back because the color, cuts, and service are consistently high quality. KSY is sophisticated & effortless style. I get lots of compliments on my hair. ​Misun is an expert colorist; my grey coverage always looks natural and perfectly blended. For cuts on my long hair, I see either Jun or Misun. I trust their judgment and let them decide what my hair needs. All of the employees at the salon are kind. Yolanda, who handles the shampooing, is also awesome.

This is honestly the only salon worth going to. Every time I try somewhere else, I always end up coming back here. My hair actually looks better over time after the cut which is rare, since most places leave you with a cut that only looks good for the first week lol. The service is always quick and professional. You can tell they’ve been doing this for years, they just get it right every time.. Highly recommend!!

Honestly the best you could find for Asian hair in Manhattan. The senior stylist (원장님) is skilled, efficient, and accommodating—and kind! I’ve been looking for a reliable hairdresser in the city and am so glad I found this place. Very content with how my hair turned out. Don’t waste your time going with a "cheaper" option in Queens. Just go here. You won’t regret it.

Got a haircut from the director (원장님) and I could not be more pleased. She was cooperative of my idea and carefully suggested little style tips. My hair turned out great. Will be returning for other hair services. Also, considering Manhattan, the prices are reasonable.

Amazing experience. Super accommodating and got seated immediately! My hair is not easy to do and they did a really amazing job!! Followed all my requests perfectly!!
