Cherishair By Haruka Terry

I have medium long asian hair with some natural wave and texture but wanted even more volume with bigger curls somewhere between a beach wave and digital perm look. I wanted the volume to start at the roots so Haruka suggested I get a regular perm (since digital perms cannot start at the root) with bigger curlers. She also added some more layers which work better for curly hair. After 3 weeks my hair has relaxed a little and I have the exact amount of curl and volume I wanted. I wash and go and scrunch a little hair lotion in and sometimes use a hair dryer with diffuser like Haruka showed me when I have time. It is the easiest hair ever and I am thoroughly satisfied. The salon is super cute and the location in nomad is really convenient. I have been to several asian hair salons in Manhattan and Cherishair and Haruka is my favorite!!!

Haruka was recommended by a friend, so I decided to give her a try and I’m so glad I did! I have wavy, very dry hair, which makes styling tricky, and I’ve always been skeptical about getting layers because of my hair texture. But Haruka gave me a haircut I never thought would suit me, and it turned out amazing. She also took the time to teach me how to style my hair properly, which I really appreciated. I absolutely love the result and can’t wait to come back for a hair treatment!

Haruka is my go to hair stylist!! She’s an expert at what she does, she’s so fun to talk to, and she makes me feel at ease. I always get consistent, great haircuts with her and so lucky to have found someone who understands my hair type. My husband also gets his curly hair cut by her and her colleague Katherine, who is also amazing at what she does and has expertise in men’s hair! Highly recommend. 💖

I've been seeing Haruka for years, even before she opened her own salon. I always go back to her because of her skills and because she's the sweetest. She's very meticulous and really listens to what you wish for. I gave her free reign on a haircut and color on the latest visit. I simply asked for a bob and a low-maintenance balayage. She did her magic and really knows how to shape the haircut to highlight my face shape. Oh, and the head spa? It's a must to splurge (if you can!)... Those 15 mins flew by, but what an amazing spa and massage. Her salon is also very clean, cute, and cozy!

Have been going to Katherine Farfan for years now and I’m so happy with my hair every time I leave the salon! Would definitely recommend her if you’re looking for a haircut, gloss, or roots touch up. 🙂

Haruka is an amazing stylist! I've been going to her for a few years. I have done single-process, double-process coloring, straightening, and perms. She is friendly and caring. I learn a lot of hair care tips from her. I leave the salon feeling relaxed and happy each time.
