Jinyi’s Salon

I wish I had a better experience, but the haircut looks horrible. I wanted just a full color with a simple haircut, and wanted to keep my length. But she ended up doing highlights, and chopped my hair significantly. She kept talking about disconnected haircut and that it will look really good and it will be easy to style. Well it doesn’t, it looks so bad and it’s an absolute nightmare to style it. When I was at the salon, I couldn’t really see my hair from the back because of a very deem light. My hair is not even, it’s chopped. When I texted her she refunded only $30, and I paid $281. Very disappointing!!!

Totally last minute idea for my baby to get her hair chopped off and Jinyi saved the day. We got so lucky because she had a last min cancellation and graciously accepted our walk in! It’s tough getting a spot on a Saturday. She is soooo kind and sweet!!! I just can’t say enough good things about her. I feel thankful for meeting this wonderful lady today, Jinyi ❤️❤️! Edited to add- I AM SO IMPRESSED BY HER HOSPITALITY AND RESULTS!!!!

I really love how Jinyi takes her time with my boys and create masterpieces and teach them how to style their hair! I’m glad we’ve found her 😃

I requested my hair done with curly by showing the photo she asked me to show what kind of hair I wanted. Ended up straight hair,. when I complained about it, she blamed me that I straightened my hair intentionally. She said she would give me a 15-minute consultation for my ruined $200 hair. After free consultation, she would charge an extra $100 for redo all over hair perm. She offered only side hair for free. I wouldn't go back . She blamed me that I don't know how to style my hair appropriately. My hair seemed a little curled when she applied lots of curly essence , which was temporary. She insisted she did a good job. I went to another shop for 2nd opinion for my hair done. A hair stylist told me my hair was don was ,awful, but Jinyi kept insisting she did a good job..

I've had a hard time searching for a salon that truly works with Asian hair and I would recommend Ms. Jinyi in a heartbeat. She was kind, friendly and skilled in her services. What I love about her is that she provided great tips on haircare for my damaged hair while also showing me quick hairstyles for the day. I've received compliments from my friends, peers, and family. Thank you again. ❤️

I have been using jinyi for over 3 years now, and she has done a good job with me, sometimes she can be too creative but overall she is much better than all the barber shops i used in both dallas and in mckinney. Maybe she knows how to work with asian hair better? For example, i pulled out an image of the style I want, she can replicated it whereas others just lack the attention to detail.

Jinyi, the owner, is extremely skilled and friendly. Knows how to cut Asian hair and will provide analysis to tailor a haircut that will suit your face. I have only ever experienced that in Asia. She was also able to diagnose the condition of my scalp with just a touch and recommended ways for me to treat my scalp better and style my hair. Best haircut experience ever. Will definitely see Jinyi for all my haircuts from now on. She’s by appointment only.
