A New Chi Salon and Spa

I had to go to another salon to fix my cut, but I gave an extra star because my stylist was very friendly and I'd like to think she just didn't know how to work with my hair type (fine strands that sit heavy due to their volume). I asked the stylist for a few inches to be trimmed off and for mid-length, blended layers with face-framing. She had me turned away from the mirror, so I didn't see what she was doing until she was done. On checking the cut with a mirror, I told her the layers were too blunt and that stylists usually blend them with point cutting or texturizing. She replied that she'd already done that but would add more. When I checked again, they looked the exact same. She tried again, but it didn't make any difference. At that point I realized that the cut wasn't going to get any better and decided to leave. A week and a half later, I went to another salon to clean up the mess. The stylist there pointed out that not only were the layers very choppy, they were also uneven, as was the entire perimeter of my hair. She had to take off a bit more length to fix the issues but was able to create a nice blended style that sits well. Anyway, I tried reaching out to A New Chi via email to let them know about my experience, and Google sent me an error that said the address on their website wasn't accepting messages. I'm leaving a review so that others with my hair type won't have to spend the time and money getting two haircuts like I did.

I red review before choosing this Salon, yet absolutely disappointed, I requested coloring coffee red solon and hair cut, yet the color comes out the top just whole black and the end shows a little red, and I asked why the color had so big difference, she said because the hair color change is normal, like I had never do hair solon before, if she couldn't make my hair color matches, why I chose you to do the color. And the hair cut also not what I expected, not professional and I totally understood on Sunday why I was the only guest there.

My family has been going to Bee for around 5 years now! She is absolutely the best hairstylist. She is patient and you can tell she really wants the outcome to be something you love and appreciate. She is very patient and kind to my sister who is special needs! She’s been coloring my hair and my sisters who had virgin hair she has done an amazing job at explaining the steps! My family love her and her salon!!

Bee is the BEST! She listened to everything I had to say about my hair and everything I didn't say to understand my wants and needs. She made my day and I feel 10 years younger after my visit with her! She is wonderful and I recommend this salon to everyone I talk to. 😉 Her staff is kind and friendly. They even have a great kids nook so my girls could be kept occupied while I got my hair done (which was sorely needed). 😀 I am most definitely returning again soon.

My review is a few months late! I never write reviews so i kept forgetting BUT this salon is my new go to. I have long, curly hair and i am always so afraid of going somewhere new because i end up with a triangle haircut. But i never wanna go back to the person again so its been a long time trial and error! Not with Bee! First off, the scalp massage was incredible. Second, she explained what she was doing every step of the way so i felt so comfortable in her hands. My hair turned out great. NO triangle. Beautiful layers. Life is stressful enough, so happy the stress of getting a haircut is lifted ! Thank you Bee!

I’ve been getting my hair cut from Kim for several years now.I actually moved from McKinney to Dallas, and I still come back up to McKinney, in order to get my hair cut from her. Kim is extremely professional, sweet and does an AMAZING job every time. I cannot sing her praises enough. If you are looking for a stylist, Kim is the one. The New Chi Salon & Spa has a great atmosphere and Bee and the other stylists make each visit I have an absolute pleasure. Two enthusiastic thumbs up!!!!👍🏻👍🏻

I've been going here for years. Bee, the owner of A New Chi, was a hair stylist long before opening her own salon, and that experience shows. She learned what does and doesn't work for customers ... and how the little "extras" make a huge difference. The atmosphere is restful; there is product to buy if needed (but it's never pushed); they offer waxing services and facials in a private and serene room; they have online scheduling capabilities (which I love). Plus, Bee is very involved in the community and has been kind in helping out local non-profits. I highly recommend A New Chi.
