Natural Alternatives Salon Cedar Bluff

If I could leave zero stars or negative stars I would. I came in wanting long layers, and left looking like I had a mullet gone wrong. When I left the salon at first, my hair did not look bad because they had curled it and did not let me look at it until it was curled and styled.Not to mention, there was not a single layer in sight, just butchered bangs that I did not ask for. And when I called for a refund, they took two days to get back with me and refuse to refund it stating, " Anybody could say that they didn’t like their haircut, so we won’t refund you." Excuse me? That is the worst haircut of my life, and I have the pictures to prove it. All in all would never recommend this place to anyone if they have or want to leave with any self dignity.

Janay was fantastic. She listened to what I liked and suggested ways to make the cut look better for my face shape. She is great at what she does, I highly recommend her!

Best salon! Wonderful Aveda products and employees. The service is spectacular! From getting hair washed, cut, styled and colored it is a relaxing spa experience. It costs more but is worth every single penny!! And then some because the service and products are quality

I just moved to Knoxville and was really hoping to find someone I could trust to do my hair at a reasonable price. Based on the reviews and the location I tried Natural Alternatives in Cedar Bluff and I was blown away! Rae was exceptional, so kind and detailed. She talked to me and asked me about my hair, what I wanted for it, and how I usually treat it, and agreed with and understood all of my ideas for my appointment. She never questioned me, which made me feel so confident in her ability to do what I was asking for. I have always been nervous going to hair salons and she made me feel so comfortable right from when I walked in the door. She was such a sweet soul and took the time to make me look and feel great. I got a wash, blow dry, cut, and style for $68 (and a hand massage!). I felt pampered for a price that was extremely reasonable for a graduate student. I am so pleased with Rae and Natural Alternatives and I will definitely be coming back!

I had a haircut and color with Malleah back in March. She was a nice person but she recommended a shampoo that makes my hair super oily when I told her my hair is already oily. When I called Aveda to do an exchange a girl named Ashley told me "NO" and was just a nasty person. I’ve been going to various Aveda salons throughout four states over the past 30 years and I’ve never been treated like Ashley treated me. I paid $350 for a shoulder length very simple haircut and hair color plus the litter of shampoo. Since Aveda on Cedar Bluff would not do the right thing, I contacted Corporate Aveda and opened a complaint ticket against the salon on Cedar Bluff and against Ashley. Corporate Aveda was nice and respectful and they refunded my money. If you ever have a problem with the crazy people at this salon just contact Aveda Corporate and they will help you. I had my hair done by Kristopher on a Saturday. He was very professional and did an excellent job highlighting my hair. I would give a five stars based on the highlights. Unfortunately, the haircut was a one star. It was so uneven that my husband had to fix it. I’ve attached a picture of one side. I would absolutely get a balayage done from Kristopher again. I would ask for a different hairstylist for a trim. Now, I was about 8 minutes late to the appointment and I was very chatty so it could be that I distracted him. I’m really not sure. Either way, if I am paying a couple hundred dollars and tipping 15% to get my hair done, I don’t want to go home and have my husband "clean it up". I’m sorry this isn’t a better review all around. Update: I added another star on here because the manager reached out to me on the same day to make it right. I look forward to my next appointment at Natural Alternatives.
