The Salon at Fondren

I have visited The Salon at Fondren on numerous occasions and have received excellent customer service and have absolutely loved the results each time. I am greeted with a warm smile and offered refreshments upon arrival; I truly enjoy the welcoming atmosphere. The stylists are all extremely professional and enhance the experience each time. I highly recommend considering The Salon for an amazing hair experience!

Honestly I’ve never had a better salon experience and I’ve been to many stylists in my time. I generally don’t have strong opinions about what gets done to my hair but their stylists have never once disappointed! They’re very friendly and knowledgeable and take the time to explain what’s going on or get a clear understanding of what I wanted. I tried showing photos but turns out I showed them AI and they explained what we can do to achieve what I wanted and I was not disappointed! They have snacks and drinks on hand too which was a nice touch for the longer visits. It’s very clean bright and a positive space i recommend them to everyone that asks!

Maddy helped me achieve my dream hair goals unlike anyone before. Also taught me how to properly maintain my hair to keep it thick and healthy through the lightening process to get to the blonde I am now. Also loved the general atmosphere she’s created. I’ll always be back in her chair !

I want to share my experience with Maddy from The Salon of Fondren. This was my first time booking with her. I made the appointment about two months in advance, planning ahead because her schedule seemed to fill up quickly. However, about 1–2 weeks before the appointment date, she contacted me and canceled the booking. No alternative time was offered, and there wasn’t a clear explanation other than that she would not be able to take me as a client. I was disappointed because I had planned around this appointment for a long time and waited weeks expecting the service. I understand that things can come up, but better communication or an attempt to reschedule would have been appreciated. I’m sharing this experience so others can be aware before making long-term plans to book with her.

The Salon at Fondren is clean and inviting. The stylists are friendly! They are all skilled to provide you the best in haircare and style. They are all amazing! I drive two hours to the Salon at Fondren. It is so worth it! My hair Stylist is Kaylyn. She is so good with color! I always walk out feeling my best self!

I can’t speak as to the quality of work, but I can speak to the customer service. Let me start by saying you will be playing phone tag with them when trying to make an appointment. When you call you will get voicemail. They seem to be unable to communicate through email or text or online booking. I scheduled for a quick dry cut. It was the only thing they had available. My appointment was in the afternoon. On the morning before my appointment, I had an emergency come up and I emailed and texted The salon from the numbers that the appointment confirmations came through. I had not heard anything back from them around noon, so I decided to call in which I got Voice Mail as expected. I left a voicemail stating that I had not heard back from them after I left an email in a text. I just wanted to confirm that they knew I could not make my appointment. Fast forward to my scheduled appointment time, Kayla calls me as I am on my way to the vet with a screaming cat in the car Explaining the no-show fees. She did confirm that she received an email but not a text from me. I was not made aware as to the time allotment necessary for emergencies and not being able to make your appointment. I was still apologetic. I understand what it’s like being a small business owner. Moments later, I received a text from Kayla with her Venmo account and a $55 fee that I could pay. For a quick squeeze in dry cut. That is the no-show cancellation fee I guess? In my opinion, I think this shows the lack of empathy of the stylist. I think if you’re already an established customer here this would be a great place because it’s local. I think they might be unable to take on new clients and expand in that regard. I was not going to leave a review, but the fact that they actually sent their Venmo, considering they are an extremely hard facility to get a hold of any other time… just kind of odd. My only thinking is the salon must be burned a lot by no-shows so people who honestly have an emergency going on please do not expect any empathy.

Maddy is the BEST hairdresser I have ever had. She is gifted in what she does! I love my new hair cut. She is awesome! Thank you Maddy!
