The older man can NOT cut hair. Do not recommend. Asked for a fade and could not understand and shaved the side with clippers. When I asked why he didnt fade, he became argumentative and said it was. He also smells of cigarettes and overall unpleasant experience. Do NOT recommend. Will NOT come back

I’ve been getting my hair cut by Jenny every three weeks, and she is truly the best. She has me in and out in about 20 minutes, and every single time the fade is perfect—clean, sharp, and it actually fits my head and face perfectly. She also gives the best shampoo, which is such a nice touch after a cut. Beyond her skill, Jenny is one of the sweetest people you’ll ever meet. She always asks about my family, checks in on how life is going, and genuinely cares. She’s consistent, professional, and just a wonderful person to sit with. If you’re looking for a barber who delivers perfect cuts and treats you like family, go see Jenny at Banyan Barber and Hairstyle. She deserves your business!

Nice staff. They all seem to be family and welcome everyone with a warm greeting. Great place for a quick haircut. Located across the street from Don Quiote next to the church. Can't miss this place in the green 3 story building. Easy street parking or a short walk from the Walmart garage. Best prices in town for kids and seniors. Regular haircut is still under 15 bucks. I wouldn't recommend salon style cuts or color, as this place is very basic and affordable. After going there for 3 years now, some stylist are better than others. I definitely have my favorite.

Banyan Barber Shop & Styling operates what amounts to a pricing arbitrage scheme disguised as island hospitality, and it's brilliant. Tucked across from Honolulu's Don Quijote on Kaheka Street, this women-owned establishment has cracked the code on extracting maximum value from Hawaii's dual-economy reality—where tourists and locals inhabit the same physical space but entirely different pricing universes. The business model would make any derivatives trader proud. No posted rates, strategic inquiries about hotel accommodations, and dynamic pricing that would make Uber blush. A recent fifteen-minute haircut and beard trim commanded thirty dollars—effectively $120 per hour of barber time. That's not just premium pricing; that's Manhattan steakhouse hourly rates in a strip mall barbershop. What's fascinating isn't the premium itself, but the operational sophistication wrapped in casual island vibes. The facility screams capital investment: contemporary glass storefronts, pristine white cabinetry, and modern equipment that signals serious business beneath the aloha exterior. Every design choice serves dual purposes—potted plants soften the clinical efficiency while maintaining the high-throughput environment necessary for profitability. The location strategy reads like a masterclass in demographic capture. Positioned between Waikiki's tourist infrastructure and residential neighborhoods, with proximity to the Convention Center and Ala Moana Shopping Center, Banyan sits at the intersection of multiple revenue streams. The Don Quijote anchor provides local authenticity while ensuring steady neighborhood cash flow—tourist dollars subsidizing local grooming needs. Service delivery prioritizes technical competence over theatrical experience, eliminating the leisurely relationship-building that traditionally characterizes island barbering. This isn't cultural insensitivity; it's economic evolution. When commercial rents skyrocket and operational costs spiral, productivity trumps personality every time. The genius lies in quality execution justifying the price premium. Clean fades, precise trimming, and meticulous attention to detail demonstrate genuine skill rather than tourist-trap mediocrity. Busy Sunday crowds suggest robust repeat business—proof that even dynamic pricing strategies can build customer loyalty when underlying service quality delivers value. Banyan represents the sophisticated economic adaptation happening across Hawaii's small business landscape. Rising costs and seasonal fluctuations force entrepreneurs to maximize revenue per transaction while maintaining standards that justify premium positioning. The dual-market approach—potentially different rate structures for visitors versus residents—isn't exploitation; it's survival economics in one of America's most expensive business environments. This microcosm illuminates broader service economy realities where businesses must balance authentic local culture with economic viability. For an industry traditionally built on relationship and community, Banyan's transformation into an urban convenience service reflects the relentless pressure of modern business economics. The establishment functions as a case study in market segmentation, operational efficiency, and strategic positioning—extracting value from Hawaii's unique economic ecosystem while delivering legitimate professional service. It's small business innovation hidden in plain sight, proving that even the most traditional industries can adapt and thrive through clever positioning and execution.

Very bad experience. -Unfortuntly they don't have commitment to their price table sign. At the end you will surprise with another price which they push you to pay in Cash. -unfortunatly after 4 times going there, I find out they won't cut hair enough to force you come back early. In overall if you interested to go there consider below things: 1- when you got there at the very first tell them what you want and finalize the very final price that you should pay. I know sounds ridiculous but at least its better to surprise you at the end. - Be sure to brought cash by your self - Be sure to provide a picture of the model that you consider to have. They have a little bit language barrier and they may not understand exactly what you want. But if you know Chinese you can easily communicate and ask for it.

Got a haircut from Jenny, the result is great! She knows how to cut Asian hair. Cannot recommend enough. Reasonable prices too. As a local, will definitely be coming back.
