Shin Sa Dong Hair Salon

I came to this barbershop while looking for a place where I could comfortably get a haircut without a reservation. It was said that the barbershop has been run by an elderly female barber for years. The barber could speak Korean and Chinese, but the problem was that the speed of trimming the hair was very slow. I just wanted a simple trim, but the right and left sides of my hair were trimmed a little differently and unequally. When I pointed this out, she cut my hair that, unfortunately, was slightly longer was cut shorter again, making the hair length on the right and left different again. After the haircut, the some cut hairs remained on my shoulders, neck, and face, making me uncomfortable all day long. It seemed like the barber was too old to cut hair properly. I won’t come here to get my haircut again.

It's a barber, not a salon. My hair stylisher should tell me when i walk in, but she did not. The lady pushed my head hard and made me feel uncomfortable. also,when she saw her regular customer came in, although i agreed to let her regular customer have service first. She pushed my back and asked me to leave the chair quickly. she doesn't have any skill for women style at all. I spent $36 for the hairstyle, which looks like I cut by myself. I told her that I wanted to have short hair but still could tie a ponytail. I didn't stay any longer because i worried about losing all my hair and looked like a man.

If you are not Korean, stay away (and if you are and have experienced discrimination, maybe consider my experience). I have been going here with my 2 boys for a long time (years). The following happened to me twice and the last time i walked away and will not return. This is what happened: We came in (me and my 9 year old) and had to wait for 2 gentlemen who arrived prior to us. While the 1st gentlemen was getting his haircut, a lady and her husband walked in. The lady talked with the owner (in Korean) looking at the clock on the wall and looking at the 3 customers waiting. She was visibly not happy with the wait time. The owner asks me how many haircuts and I say 2. The two lady's exchange a few words (seemed to be estimating how long it would be). The lady and her husband leave. The husband returns 5 minutes later while the 2nd gentlemen is getting his haircut. Once the 2nd gentlemen is done, he pays and leaves. At that point, the owner turns to me and says that the husband had an appointment and i would have to wait 20 more minutes. This is the 2nd time i am "skipped" by someone off the street who has an "appointment" and both times very conveniently its just me, not other Koreans who are waiting in front of me. My wife is Korean and the owner knows i don't speak Korean. Very unprofessional. I will be taking my family and anyone I know business elsewhere.

$20 for a haircut (& $5 blow dry) on my waist-length long hair! Normally this would cost me $40-50!! Definitely coming back for my next hair cut. Cheap & well done. She mostly speaks Korean, understands & can speak English but not fluent. But that’s fine since she understood what I wanted. She was able to take me right after her previous customer left, cut my hair super fast & did a great job!

All of the scissors are rusted and the clippers are never disinfected. They never clean and are so dirty. The bathroom smells awful than the public bathroom, and even the bathroom door is broken and won't close. Do not go to this store for your health

Normally a hair stylist at a different place with a high price somehow cuts the back of my young child's hair uneven (one side is cut too much and the other side less so I can see a diagonal line). The lady at this salon did a great job of not making the back hair uneven. And the hair style was great. Even my 7 year old said "Grandma did a good job. I like it!." My husband also got a hair cut for the first time and approved it. She took her time to ensure the hair cut is clean and well done. And the price is really reasonable, almost too inexpensive, considering inflation and compared with other salons that charge so much for a hair cut, even when they don't do that great job.

I went to H-mart at the same shopping square for lunch and decided to try this place because its good reviews...i regreted afterwards. This is a place for young child's or man's haircut but not for a woman. There was no hair wash before the cut, only the water spray to wet the hair, then hair cut itself was very basic and roughly done within 20 mins... i truely regreted my prompt decision to give it a try...
