I’ve gone here many times for a men’s haircut and occasionally highlights. Julie cuts my hair and is super kind and receptive of my opinions / what I want. Ken did my highlights and they turned out fantastic. I wanted to change up my hair recently but still had some highlights, both Julie and Ken talked to me about what’s possible to do / what they recommended. Even though they could have charged me money to attempt what I wanted, they told me it wouldn’t come out to be what I wanted and advised me alternatives, which saved me money. They’re very realistic on what can be done, and try to do your hair right. I highly recommend Tina Beauty Salon - The stylists are so kind and are there to make people look good & not rushing to make money!

Julie is simply the best in Chicago, without a doubt. I used to bounce from one Chinatown stylist to another until I met Julie. She puts an incredible amount of care into every cut she does. I have gone to Julie for complete hair color transformations, touch-ups, and the trims. Everyone who walks into her salon has a before/after transformation which is impressive to say the least. The first thing I noted about her, is that she will try not to overcharge customers. If she is able to fix a customer’s balayage with highlights instead of completely re-doing the balayage, she will do it. These costs add up, so that is important! As a business owner, my schedule can be crazy at times and Julie has always been very accommodating for me while making sure the quality of the visit is always at the forefront. I appreciate her for being so flexible with me. This salon is my go-to place and I would recommend it for anyone. Update: Updating this review nearly 10 years later and Julie is still my go to stylist. She is incredible! Definitely check her out

This was my first time going to a salon since I moved to Chicago from Detroit around 4 months ago and I was very nervous. I called and asked if they did walk ins, and they said yes come in an hour! I got a shampoo/condish, haircut, and blowout. I gave my stylist Julie a brief description of what I wanted, a trim with layers and more emphasis on my curtain bangs, and it’s the BEST haircut i’ve ever gotten in my LIFE! She gave me exactly what I envisioned when other places never could. I’m so happy and Julie was so kind and did the most amazing job. Also the lowest prices i’ve seen in years!! I’ll be coming back for sure!

I out out 9 months to grow my hair out . I come in here and ask for a low taper to end up with some mullet looking fade that is all he way up past the high point. Completely ruined my hair and 9 months of effort to grow. Unbelievable this is not a low taper he didn't even know how to do taper cuts and just threw some weird cut on my hair. Completely ruined 9 months of effort I put to grow my hair. Never coming back or do I recommend low tapers here I'm sure they do other good cuts but the service I received was very unsatisfying

Came here to gives 5 stars for julie. I'm visiting my friend and next day had a flight for my vacation searching hair cut place in 1 days and this place shown up. Julie you had my heart at first sight like wowwww this is the best layer cut I never had. I need her to own the salon in MA, then I can see her everytime I need hair cut😄

I came in for a haircut not feeling very confident since I had bad past experiences with stylists handling my hair, but Michael took such great care of me throughout my entire experience at the salon! Michael, Tina and her son Bon all made me feel welcome and at home. I was able to trust Michael with my hair and I’m so glad I did. My hair has never looked better! I’m truly thankful and highly recommend others come to Tina Beauty Salon to get your hair done!
