I had a such great experience here! Kendell was super thorough. She listened to all of my concerns and gave me exactly what I was looking for & also did a really great job with client education. The staff is super friendly!! Would recommend to anyone, but especially someone who is looking for a salon that knows what to do with textured or curly hair

I made a last minute appointment here and had the absolute pleasure of working with Mitra. It was exactly what I was looking for. A very easy experience where the stylist knew what i was asking for, trusted that i knew my hair, and helped me create a sustainable path towards what I am looking for in my relationship with my hair, which is basically life... and was so easy to truly talk to. I walked away feeling seen and in an extremely better mood than I was in before the appointment. Also the whole vibe of the space is very welcoming, calm, and cool. I felt like a cool mom for 90 min, which was much needed for my soul. Thank you so much I can not wait to return! xoxox

I've been seeing Brad for ten years and I can say without a doubt, every single haircut/color I've gotten with him has been wonderful. Oko is great- everyone is so nice, so helpful, and the space is amazing. Cannot recommend enough

I had the best hair cut off my life! I saw Caro recently and her haircut is the best I've ever had. Anytime I get a short style, I end always needing to straighten it to avoid the dreaded mushroom situation since my hair has a lot of volume. I don't know how Caro did it but now my natural hair can just be! The natural little bits is wave in my hair sit so perfectly and I am so happy. My hair has personality now lol thank you!!

I’ve been a frequent flyer here for the last 5 years, and they’ve brought me to bangs, blonde, purple, pink, and recently blue! Caro is my incredible stylist and always sets me right. My highlights are done so perfectly they’re practically natural, and they grow out like a dream. Plus my partner (finally) comes here and his hair has never looked better! No matter who you see- you’re in great hands at Oko 💇‍♀️

I’ve been a loyal client of one of the barbers at this shop for years and was genuinely excited to find her again after she moved salons. I waited over a month for this appointment and even took the day off work, making an hour and a half drive from the northwest suburbs through traffic to get there. Unfortunately, about 15 minutes from the salon, I got stuck behind a serious accident on I-90 that added 30 minutes to my drive. I tried calling to let them know I was delayed, but no one answered. When they called back, I was told that unless I could arrive before 5:15 exactly, they’d have to cancel the appointment per their policy — even though I was going to be there by 5:15-5:20 due to circumstances completely beyond my control. What’s frustrating is that 5:14 would’ve been fine, but 5:15 wasn’t, especially for a long-time client who had communicated the delay and made every effort to be there. Being charged $100 for a haircut I never received, after driving 90 minutes, getting stuck behind a major accident, to be told I need to go back home and wait another 40 days till she can cut my hair, feels incredibly disappointing and unfair. I understand policies exist for a reason, and she had clients afterwards but a little flexibility and empathy — especially for loyal clients of these barbers facing unforeseen situations — would go a long way. I love my barber, but this whole situation was extremely disappointing by the salon, and if she wasnt there I would never come back.
