I came here a few months ago and saw Laura H. While the salon seemed quite nice, I made the mistake of booking the wrong hair appointment for my thick hair - which was 100% on me. I didn't see thick & long haircut under the dropdown options. So I chose the regular haircut option. For the record, I have thick, decently long hair with a natural wavy texture that I prefer to emphasize. I was unaware of my mistake for most of the appointment, and early on sensed that Laura was rather unfriendly towards me. I thought maybe she was just focused, or having a rough day, or just wanted quiet time, which was fine. But then near the end of my cut, she showed me my hair, and it looked very 2000s and thin when I'd asked for a much more voluminous 1970s/1960s vibe. Like, it could have fit on set in Laguna Beach. During cutting, I couldn't see what she was doing because I wear very thick glasses, so I could not stop her thinning my hair in real time to prevent this. At the end of the appointment, I was already disappointed in the cut, which I didn't speak up about because it was so off from what I'd asked for, and she'd been so cold, that I just wanted to leave. Then Laura made a point to tell me she'd charge me for the haircut I'd booked even though the long and thick one was much more expensive, which was how I learned I'd booked the wrong appointment. I was pretty mortified, and I tried to put a large tip to make up for the difference. However, I've had to live with this hair, which has significantly less volume than it used to (which makes me sad). In retrospect, it seems like she took her frustration out on either me or my hair, because the experience of getting the cut was miserable, humiliating, and the final cut was not remotely what I asked for. For this reason, I will not be returning to the salon for another haircut.
I'd been saving my haircuts and color for trips back to LA until I found Megan! She is a color genius and the studio vibes are so good – from the design to the products to the snacks. Megan knows hair and she knows how to create a meditative moment when washing your hair, which alone is worth the visit. I'm a few visits in and can tell I'll be coming to Reverie for many years to come!
Megan is the best! I have been going to her for over a decade. I left Boston, moved to LA, then recently moved back. I was so happy to find out that Megan was accepting new clients again at her new salon. I wasn’t too happy with my hair when I left LA. I showed Megan what I wanted and within 2 sessions, she nailed it! I love my cut and my color. I’ve been getting unsolicited compliments from strangers which is an extra ego boost😜. She also has great products. I won’t go anywhere else! Book your appt (or 2) now because she is in high demand for a reason!
Megan, Sheila and the stylists at Reverie are simply next level. More like magical hair fairies, really. I’ve never had a better "lived in" balayage before in my life. I now live in another state, but I am willing to travel 2+ hours, because they are truly worth it!
I've been getting my hair done by Sheila for years and this is my favorite space she's worked in. Sheila as a stylist is so talented, energy healing, and really listens to what you want. She jumps in with and cool color/cut suggestions when you're feeling open to it, and I always leave my appointments feeling like a boss. Reverie feels like a collective of rad creatives who all really care about their craft, and curating a cool vibe in the space. The wine, seltzer, and snacks during the appointment are always the cherry on top.
I found Gabby at Reverie from researching area stylists and from the moment I sat in her chair I felt so comfortable. Easily the most comfortable I’ve ever felt at a salon. She took the time to sit and talk through hair goals, and was just a really genuine and kind human to be around. I also absolutely loved the end result so much. I feel so great about my hair and can’t wait for my next appointment. Reverie was also such a welcoming and comfortable space, I enjoyed spending time there.
I have been a client of Megan’s for years and have followed her to different salons for over a decade. Not only is Megan an incredible stylist and person, her new salon Reverie is a beautiful and relaxing space. It’s light and airy, filled with beautiful plants and lots of cute details. All the stylists are friendly and talented and booking is easy online. Highly recommend Reverie as your go-to neighborhood salon!
