I had the good fortune of being cut and fixed up by Christina (Chrissy) Albin today, and I want to take a minute and give proper credit where it’s due. It’s been a long time since I had a barber take their time and really get things just right. I didn’t have great direction to offer because I don’t have the hair for some cool new doo…so I just asked her to make me look better and to help me solve the sort of mini mullet I had going. Chrissy gave me a full "scissor cut" and when she was done, I saw a guy in the mirror I hadn’t seen in a long time. She did an incredible job of seeing what would be my best option, then actually made it real. She was gentle, skilled, and made the time pass easily with a natural bedside manner not normally found these days. I highly recommend this artist for anything haircut related, and I actually look forward to having to go back again in a few months. I’ve finally found "my" barber…and I didn’t even know how much I wanted to find that! Full, easy choice, 5-star rating. The shop itself is also well kept, a friendly and clean environment in a very convenient location, and the owner even came out to greet me and make some small talk during the throughly satisfying 30minutes I was in the chair. Well worth the wait if they’re booked out!

I’m a transplant to the area, and like most people miss their old barber, relationships and standards are earned. Since moving here I have tried three barbers over the past year and mehhh. Some even reminded me of boot camp. I booked an appointment with Mathew at west side barbers and I got my local guy. Did exactly what I asked and had a great attitude with normal conversation. Great location and parking is almost guaranteed with validation. Mahalo nui loa 🤙

My favorite barber in town. I’m a queer woman with an undercut and long top, and surprisingly this barbershop can do both! I go in pretty regularly for my undercut shave, and today just tried getting my length and layers touched up. The most impressive barbershop in town.

Start out by scheduling an appointment on their website. For anyone confused about parking- you scan the QR code in the parking lot, then walk into the barbershop and scan that QR code and you’ll have 4 hours of free parking. Jess did my son’s haircut and she was warm and welcoming right away. She knew a lot about cutting hair and helped my son understand how she could cut it like how he wanted but in a way that would work with his hair texture and growth pattern. She chatted with me and my son as she carefully cut his hair. Christian also came over and chatted a bit. It was fun that he’s from Utah like me. Jess told my son if he gets home and decides he hates his cut, we can come back in the next week and she’ll fix it for free- not that we’ll need it because he loves his cut so much. And they take cash card or Venmo which is so convenient!

My favorite barbershop to go to when I'm back home on leave. This place has such a comforting atmosphere with a beer on tap to help ease you into it. Paid about $45 dollars for my haircut but you definitely get what you pay for. Love this place!

West Side Barber shop is definitely the place to go. I have been seeing Travis for years now and I've not once had a bad experience or cut. The place oozes old school cool and the talented barbers make it welcoming and full of life. There is something about going and sitting down and talking about life with your barber that will never get old and this place is no different. The razor cut up and the massager finish keep you ready for the day. I always stride out of here with a new confidence and a spring in my step! I plan on coming here until I'm an old man!
