I’m so happy I found this salon. From the moment I walked in, everyone was warm and welcoming. The stylist took time to understand my hair type and what I wanted, and the result was perfect. The salon is clean, calm, and professional. I left feeling confident and refreshed. Highly recommend this place!
Leaving this review because despite it being a month and a half after my color appointment, I’m genuinely frustrated every time I look at my hair. For context, I have my cosmetology license—while I don’t actively practice, I understand color theory, cutting, and technique. I came here on a friend’s recommendation for a cut and color consult. I wanted balayage since it’s supposed to be gentler and more natural. My hair was mostly uncolored for 8 months (natural level 7/8N), and because it’s very fine, I’m particular about how it’s cut. I clearly told the stylist I didn’t want bulk removed or my ends thinned and asked for long, round layers that connect. Instead, she lifted all my hair above my head—removing bulk—not to mention she used thinning shears while repeatedly saying she wasn’t thinning anything. Once home, I also realized she missed layering an entire side while talking, leaving about an inch difference (pictured). I should’ve taken it as a warning sign, but since she had just returned from being away, I gave her the benefit of the doubt. I returned for my color appointment a week before my wedding, and she greeted me with an attitude, asking if I had an appointment. When I said it was balayage with her, she replied that she "forgot to put it on the books"—despite us texting about this appointment days earlier. Another red flag. I showed her the photo: a piecey, cool blonde. I repeated that I didn’t want to be as light as the photo—just the tone. Her response was, "Your hair is going to be dry; you’ll need moisturizing treatments," which was odd considering I’ve been getting highlights 2–3 times a year for 15 years and my hair is very healthy. She then started foiling my hair—even though I asked for balayage—and did so using rough teasing that pulled on my scalp, completely unlike the gentle "foiliage" method my actual stylist uses. I didn’t speak up because it was a week before my wedding and I was trying to stay positive. And while not the balayage I asked for highlights always turn out well on me. Meanwhile, the salon keeps its door open, so it was freezing and the entire place smelled like cigarette smoke from stylists smoking right outside. When she removed the foils, my hair was white with a harsh orange line of demarcation at the hairline—obvious anytime my hair is pulled back. Her foil pattern was nothing like what I requested or what my usual stylist does. At the bowl, instead of carefully brushing out the teasing, she raked a cushion brush, not a wet brush, directly at my roots on wet, freshly bleached hair, yanking hard enough that I finally asked to brush it myself. She responded, "You don’t know how," then immediately started speaking to a coworker about me in another language (she’d say some thing and the other girls would look at me) Back in the chair, trying not to panic a week before my wedding, I told her honestly that the color looked trashy—the blonde was far too white (exactly what I said I didn’t want) and the line of demarcation was obvious. She immediately started talking to her boss in another language about me, and he came over asking what the issue was. I explained, and she insisted, "We haven’t even toned it yet," and said she could fix the line. She brought me back to the bowl and decided to break my base—something that was completely unnecessary, especially since my natural root color is already a beautiful tone. Then she applied a glaze. I returned to the chair crying. She blew my hair out, and while the ends looked cool-toned, my roots already appeared reddish. I was emotionally drained and just wanted to leave. After one wash, my roots turned to orange gold brasiness. Even now, two months later, despite professional conditioning treatments, masks, oils, and moisturizing shampoos, my hair is completely fried—like straw. I have never had damage like this in 15 years of highlighting. I included a photo of my roots (already toned down from how orange they were) and a photo of my natural roots to show there was no reason to break my base in the first place.
This was my first time making an appointment with Kosa Salon and I believe I have finally found my go to hair stylest🙂 I went for a rather simple haircut with some layers. After discussing with Renata more or less what I preferred I can honestly say she did a great job. It has been a long time since I have gotten haircut that I actually liked. Super professional! I have somewhat long hair, a few inches past my shoulders and spent $50 for wash, haircut and blowdry🙂👍🏼
I have been getting my haircut from Nick at Kosa Salon for almost three years, and every visit has been amazing. Nick is honest, consistent, and never price-gouges like some other salons. The service is always top-notch, the atmosphere is comfortable, and I’m always extremely happy with the result. If you’re looking for a stylist you can trust long-term, I can’t recommend Nick and Kosa Salon enough.
I have been going here for a long time. I love getting my haircut by Nick. He is great at what he does, offers very reasonable pricing and is super accommodating. The whole team there is kind and does such good work. I highly recommend them and will continue to go there as a client.
An exceptional salon with true specialists in hair care, cutting, and coloring. The music selection creates a relaxing and welcoming atmosphere. I would especially like to highlight Nick, who delivers flawless and precise haircuts, including men's cuts. Highly recommended.
I loveee the service at this salon. They got the hair color just right with a picture and the toner lasts such a long time. I can go months without toning and it’s still very nice. They leave your hair really soft and the haircut is nice too 😊 Props to Renata 👏
