I’ve never had crochet braids before so I called around and found this spot. Cheryl was so nice and professional. She answered all my questions and included me in the process. My hair turned out great! I’ve gotten so many compliments. I will be going to her again.

First time client. I am so happy that I found Ms. Ann! She gave me a great cut on my natural hair. I've gotten so many compliments. I read the reviews and booked an appointment. I didn't quite know what I wanted and Ms. Ann worked with me to help figure it out. She was patient and very knowledgeable. I highly recommend!

I've been wearing my hair natural for seven months and it's been a new experience for me even though I'm older. I come from a family where I was once judged harshly for my hair and felt compelled to chemically straighten it. Bottom line is that I needed to find someone who actually knew what they were doing to help me through this journey. Most of the women I publicly admired were in fact wearing extensions or weaves or wigs or some sort of sew-in. I'm so glad I found Ann and her shop Not Just Hair. I had a job interview and I really wanted my short pixie afro to look nice and I wanted to color it. I knew I couldn't do it myself because I had already tried and it turned red. The minute that Anne saw me she knew exactly what needed to be done and squared me away I'm happy to send photos because I want you to see the difference! I was able to get highlights and products that allow my hair to look pretty nice with minimal effort. I simply had my barber shape my haircut to highlight Ann's amazing work. There was no long wait. The women were British, American, and Nigerian. It was so positive. The energy, level of hard work being put into our hair because everyone had a different hairtype. I'm embracing in lieu of chemically torturing myself. It's pretty liberating!

I am so impressed with my experience here. Ann was very professional, did an amazing job perfecting my blonde color and I felt safe leaving my short natural hair in her care. I'm a returning customer for sure as I've found a salon and stylist I'm more than comfortable with.

Ann is fantastic! A friend recommended her shop to me 11 years ago, and she's been my stylist ever since; even after moving to NYC, I've made trips down for her to tighten up my locs. What made me a regular customer was the quality of her work, the consistency in her pricing, and the general vibe of her shop. Every visit to her shop feels like going to a friend's home for good conversation. No drama, no gossiping, just a friendly atmosphere. I moved out of the country a few months ago, but because I was back in town this week, I made sure to make an appointment.

As evidenced in numerous reviews below, Ann did not show respect for me and my time. Although I had read negative reviews about her unprofessional conduct, I decided to give her another chance to redeem herself. Unfortunately, the day I arrived for my appointment there were parking restrictions and I had to park a considerable distance from her shop and walk in the heat. I stood outside for several minutes before calling her to be told that she was going to be late. Needless to say, I cancelled my appointment. I Do Not recommend this business.

I've been seeing Ann for about 9 years and she is the best hair stylist I've had. She helped me transition fully from relaxed hair to a beautiful afro to healthy and vibrant locs. She's educated me and been a great friend. Her shop has culture all of its own filled with love and creativity. The boutique always carry unique pieces that stand out.
