I came all the way from San Diego to try the most delicious sandwich from Jim’s falbrook Market; it deserves more than 5 stars.made by Hank i love it
There's a sign thar proudly proclaims new ownership. I kinda don't know why they bothered. Service remains as bad as it was under the previous management. Nothing like having to wait because the butcher is just gossiping with some other customers while the other butcher takes care of their order. Sorry to make you do your job, bub. It just doesn't make sense that they haven't tried to tackle this issue given how the place was dead at noon on a Saturday afternoon. Side note?: I appreciate they did a renovation and it mostly looks great - but why not at least try to refurbish the checkout stand? It cheapens the rest of the work and makes it feel like they care, but not fully? I accept this place will never be the old Jim's again, but I do wish the new owners would at least try a little harder especially considering the price point.
Great market bought my puppy a huge femer bone they cutt it up into small slices meat counter looks awseome everything looked fresh cut and ready for s BBQ ...
Went here to get some short ribs. The meat seemed ok, the short ribs they gave me were small and it was hard to tell from the way they wrapped it until I got home. Next time I would ask them to unwrap the meat before purchasing. The cashier was rude, which kind of ruined the whole experience. The market itself seems fine, otherwise if you are local. I wouldn't go out of the way for it.
I called in for an order of English Bangers and when I called to tell them they got the order incorrect, they just gave me ground meat not sausages. Jesse one of the employees told me that I ordered it wrong. They claimed that I had ordered it a certain way which was completely incorrect, they straight up just lied to me on the phone and he was not even the person who I placed the order with but they insisted the customer was wrong. I highly don’t recommend this place. The meat was expensive and I was reluctant when I picked it up but figured I’d support a small business that I’ve always attended before they changed owners. Apparently the new owners don’t care for their customers. After that customer service, I will never be returning. Ridiculous. Most of these reviews are from the previous owners, do not be fooled by the high ratings.
Holy guacamole this place rocks. Huge sandwiches (50/50 pictured, had to work to finish it!), extremely nice staff, right atmosphere the moment you smell that smoked meat from your car... and the tastes. WOW! BBQ Mac and cheese w/ black beans is a wise side choice. Will be back!
Reason for visiting: pick up a couple of steaks for pre Mother's Day BBQ Date/time of visit: Saturday morning, ~9:15 AM Parking: in the adjacent lot, free. No valet. Also parking on the street if the lot is full. Party size: 1 Environment/ambience: great place to pick up quality meats. They also sell Korean BBQ (limit to 3 lbs per order when I was there, maybe due to the meat shortage) and seafood. They sell other items too (cereal, etc), not just meats. They also have a food truck (Calabasas custom catering) outside every Saturday and Sunday selling cooked BBQ meats and chicken. Smelled great but didn't try any. Service: was great. The wait wasn't too long since I was there right after opening but it was pretty busy. The guy behind the counter explained dry age, wet age, and tips on seasoning. Food: picked up 2 Tomahawks and 2 porterhouses. 1 Tomahawk was dry aged and 1 wet age (marinated in its own sauces). Porterhouses weren't aged. There were other steaks too: NY, prime sirloin, etc. Cost: ~$150 for 4 steaks. Tomahawks were more expensive obviously; each Tomahawks were 2.25 and ~2.7 lbs (~$110); Porterhouses were 2.25 lbs total (~$36).
