I had a great experience at this place. The place was clean and well-stocked. Most prices were reasonable and the staff were helpful. Overall, I think it is a nice Indian supermarket.
Ordered veg pulao for Togo, all I got is plain rice. This is something we cannot check while picking up the Togo as they stuff the veg curry inside, now all I got is plain rice. How can they be so careless after making people wait for 30 mins Update: I visited the branch as per the feedback. I didn’t want to argue, all I wanted was a replacement or my money back - FYI I took the food back. The conversation started nice but ended in a different direction. They mentioned it’s not their fault, and they’re seeing veggies in it when they clearly know it’s not their regular. It’s a clear attempt to cover up the mistake. I was told I would be given replacement only if I had deleted the review. I was ok to delete the review but the statement ‘will be replaced only after I deleted it’ and attitude of not accepting their mistake didn’t sound right. This kind of attitude needs to remain here as review. Thanks Vijetha!
This was a very disappointing and concerning experience related to food safety and customer service. I purchased chapati for $4.99 on a Friday. These chapatis are made in the store’s internal kitchen and were packaged in a simple zip-lock bag, with no manufactured date, no best-before date, and no labeling at all. Unfortunately, when we opened the package later that evening to prepare dinner (around 9:45 PM), we immediately noticed visible fungus/mold on the chapati. Because it was already late, it wasn’t possible to return to the store that night. I returned to the store on Sunday to address the issue. Instead of handling this professionally, the staff denied a refund in a rude manner and only offered a replacement. At that point, I had completely lost confidence in purchasing food made in their kitchen, so I declined the replacement and requested a refund instead. What made the situation worse was that they took my receipt and told me they threw it in the trash, which is unacceptable. Thankfully, I had taken a photo of the receipt beforehand. I do acknowledge that purchasing an unlabeled food item was a mistake on my part. However, selling moldy food without proper labeling or date information, especially when it is prepared in-house, is a serious food safety concern. The way this was handled showed a lack of accountability and customer care. I am now considering reporting this incident to the appropriate authorities so that other customers don’t experience the same issue. Extremely disappointed, and I will not be purchasing food from their kitchen again.
2 stars for the staff, 5 stars for the shop owner. Most of the cash-counter staff are among the most impolite people I’ve encountered in any shopping center. They don’t greet customers, they don’t help with bagging groceries, and instead they simply STARE as if to say you should do everything yourself. I’ve experienced this in almost 90% of my visits over the past year. The in-house food store is good, and the people there are nice. Lastly, the SHOP OWNER absolutely deserves 5 STARS. He is polite, well-mannered, and knows how to greet customers and help them find what they need. He is the main reason I continue to come back to this store.
WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE. THE STAFF IS VERY RUDE HERE Today evening I & my friend went to have a dinner at this place, as one of my another colleague told that there is BOGO. Inspite of seeing the reviews we still went to this Swagruha Kitchen. The food is too salty. In front of us there was a family who were requesting for to go boxes, but the front desk person I think his name is SAI he was rude at the customers and not even understanding the situation of that poor family. I & my friend felt very bad. They had to understand the customers problems. The customer (Wife & Husband) were requesting that their daughters are not feeling well and he needs to pack the food. Not sure if he is legal to work in the restaurant. God knows! The poor family had no option other than throwing the food 😢 I highly recommend NOT TO visit this store! Now there are so many Indian restaurants in Tracy please try them. We cannot entertain this RUDE behavior.
While visiting a friend in Tracy we visited this place , it’s a grocery store with a nice food court. The place gives the vibes of back home INDIA with the variety of snack n savory food items served hot. They had us try a complimentary chai which was perfectly done n nostalgically took me to the typical Hyderabadi Irani Chai memories. They also had good variety of dosas, kabobs n biryanis n also had pani puri spot. We tried a Vijetha Special chicken Biryani n Apollo fish. The Biryani was an ok in taste, mildly spicy, little too oily n Biryani rice n the meat looked to have been cooked separately. The Apollo fish was too salty n not that great. The seating area is small, gets crowded n the Indian discipline of being all over n taking too long adds to the agony of making others time. The place did smell too much of Clorox guessing was excessive usage on that specific day , the downside was food aroma was lost in that strong smell. After a quick meal, we did shop for some groceries n veggies, the prices were little high I felt though the veggies looked fresh. They have good stock n choices with non Vijetha brands . They also have a meat section in the back of the store with good chicken n mutton options , fresh cut n even whole chicken. Their checkout can get better, as of the 3 lanes only one was leading to the actual checkout with no sign boards. Overall would rate this a 3.5 or a little higher than 3 of 5 for its location, food options n freshness with veggies.
The store doesn’t offer much variety. There are very few well-known brands, and many unnecessary items occupy the shelves. The store seems to try to monopolize certain brands by prioritizing their own products instead of offering a wide selection of good brands. For essential items, they either carry their own brand or some unknown local brands at higher prices. While it may be a large store, it is not ideal for shopping due to the limited brand selection and the presence of unnecessary or less popular organic items. Their own products also do not appear to be of high quality. Overall, this store is not recommended for large shopping trips.
