Smart & Final Extra!

The management and employees here are HORRIBLE. On thanksgiving I came in to grab a few last minute items. The store was closing in 10 minutes so I was rushing. I checked out and walked to my car and it was locked. AAA came and let me into my car only to find out my keys were not in there. I went back to the entrance of Smart and Final and let them know my keys were somewhere in the store. They wouldn’t let me in and I’m standing outside in the cold with groceries for over twenty minutes while the "looked" for my keys. Not over did they say hey can you tell us where you were in the store or we can have the security guard escort you around. Instead they pretended to look in the store but never let me in, I had to get my car towed home on thanksgiving. I went back to the store at 6am the following morning, I went to the last section I was in the night before, produce department and I found my keys sitting on top of the limes. Had they let me come in quickly or even asked where I went in the store I could have saved money and not have my thanksgiving ruined. The district manager was supposed to call me back never heard from them. This situation was poorly handled and no resolution or apologies were given. These people have no empathy.

Smart & Final Extra is definitely that go-to spot when I need random groceries or supplies—and they almost always have what I’m looking for. Whether it’s bulk snacks, drinks, cleaning products, or even fresh produce, they’ve got a surprisingly solid selection. Prices are fair, especially compared to bigger chain grocery stores, and I appreciate that you can find both name brands and more affordable alternatives. The store is usually clean and well-stocked, and checkout is quick if you time it right. It’s not fancy, but it gets the job done—and that’s exactly what you want sometimes.

The 5 stars are for Aidan! He deserves his flowers. He is running the show! He is an AWESOME, hard working, kind and polite young gentleman. He was answering phones, gathering carts, kindly answering customers questions and when I called in to ask for 10lb bags of leg and thigh chicken quarters, he checked for me and even held the bags for me to pick up. He deserves all the praise. He is a rock star!

Organized, friendly, store was clean & pretty simple when it came to finding what I needed. Last but not least, small but plenty to choose from when it comes to the floral shop!

I am not real familiar with the store since I have not shopped there. I know they have a good reputation. A lot of small businesses purchase their supplies there. I was there tonight because they had an item that I was looking for. I had called during the day and they were holding it for me till this evening. Josie was holding the item for me. I found Josie and she was more than cordial and helpful! She showed me a couple of other items they had that I was interested in. Kudos to her! This is really a huge store. I didn’t realize how big it was. They relocated from further down on Pacific Avenue to the current spot just behind Sketcher’s shoes on the corner of Hammer and Lower Sac. I will be going back to the store to check out their prices and items !

I love this store! The store is very clean and the employees were super helpful. I loved the checkout signs that had street signs with street lights attached. It had Pacific Avenue and Hammer Lane, etc. I was surprised at the selection of fruits and vegetables. It's on par with Safeway and Costco with freshness but they have lower prices. Even in bulk. They don't have any club card, what you see is what you get on the price. If you shop for a lot of people or are having a party, this is definitely worth it. I would recommend using this store for big things and other discount stores for your other necessity shopping.

Smart & Final has really good produce, certain meat were on sale, like to get kitchen trash liners here. There was only 2 registers open so the lines were long. The manager did open another register. There's pretty good customer service
